Happy birthday, Lena Dunham! The actress, filmmaker, and writer turns 27 today, closing out another highly successful year of her relatively young life. The creator and star of the Golden Globe Award-winning HBO show Girls signed a $3.5 million book deal last year, and she uses her popularity for good, participating in political ads last election and fundraising for mental health causes. Lena has also shown her refreshingly fearless and bare-it-all personality, literally baring it all in her countless nude and sex scenes as Hannah Horvath on Girls and speaking out about body image and her struggles with obsessive compulsive disorder. Both Lena and her alter ego Hannah have a lot to say on what it's like being a 20-something woman in today's world. So we're looking at some of Hannah's best moments and lines to illustrate how to survive your 20s with some cupcakes, dancing, and self-reflection.
Spoiler Alert! Lena and Adam Reignite Their Girls Love
Lena Dunham got cozy with her costar Adam Driver while they filmed a scene for the third season of Girls in NYC. Adam tickled Lena and she returned the love by pecking him on the cheek after they also showed PDA on set during filming last week in Brooklyn. The other Girls cast members have been hard at work on the new season as well. Lena shot scenes with Allison Williams last week while wearing colorful frocks and a "birthday b*tch" hat, perhaps a nod to a special celebration in an upcoming episode.
In addition to working on the series, Lena's been busy mixing in with New York's glittering party scene, attending the Time 100 Gala last week and presenting at the 2013 Actors Fund's annual gala on Monday. She's also apparently searching for a new home and checked out a $4.45 million penthouse in Brooklyn over the weekend.
Lena Dunham and Allison Williams Get in Girl Time on Set
Lena Dunham and Allison Williams enjoyed some downtime on the set of Girls in NYC yesterday. Lena took a phone call between takes, while Allison grabbed a beverage and laughed with the crew. The girls seem to be continuing their filming from earlier this week, when they were spotted on the Manhattan set in the same outfits. Lena sported the printed bubble dress with a "Birthday B*tch" trucker hat, which could foretell a special celebration for her character, Hannah Horvath, in the show's third season.
Lena has had much to celebrate herself, as she was recently named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world. She partied with fellow honorees Claire Danes, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Fallon, and Frank Ocean at the Time 100 Gala in NYC earlier this week and shared that her father was the first person she called with the exciting news.

Allison Williams Would Love to Be "Best Friends" With Kate Middleton

Girls star Allison Williams — who has been busy guest starring on The Mindy Project and being the spokesperson for Simple Skincare — is best known for her role as Hannah's uptight friend Marnie on the award-winning show. But did you know she's also portrayed our favorite perfectly coiffed princess, Kate Middleton? Prior to Girls, the actress played Kate in a hilarious series of Funny or Die videos that she also wrote called Will & Kate: Before Happily Ever After. We asked Allison if she thought she'd get along with the Duchess of Cambridge. Here's what she told us:
Oh my god, I hope so! I would love to think that we would get along really well. In my head we'd be best friends. In reality she would probably think I was a starstruck American. But I would love to meet her. I think she's outstandingly composed. I think she's intelligent and well-spoken, and she seems really cool. I'd love to spend an afternoon when she has a day off just hanging out.
It would truly be a beautiful friendship, don't you think?
Girls Officially Gets a Third Season From HBO
I hope you're enjoying Lena Dunham's view of 20-something life on Girls, because we're going to get at least one more year of it. HBO has confirmed that Girls, which recently started its second-season run, has been cleared for season three. Though producer Judd Apatow may have spilled the news a couple months ago, HBO has made it official with today's announcement. I couldn't be more pleased about the renewal, since I've been enjoying the show, and it looks like recent Golden Globe winner Dunham has one more thing to celebrate.
