A Boy Wore a Wonder Woman Shirt to Comic-Con and Got an Awesome Response

When you throw Agent Carter, Brienne of Tarth, and Wonder Woman herself into a discussion about badass women, it's almost guaranteed that incredible things will happen. That's exactly what went down at Saturday's Entertainment Weekly "Women Who Kick Ass" panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The event featured panelists Gwendoline Christie (who plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones), Gal Godot (who will play Wonder Woman in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Hayley Atwell (who plays the lead in Agent Carter), Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswald in Doctor Who), and Kathy Bates (Madame Delphine LaLaurie in American Horror Story) alongside moderator and EW senior writer Sara Vilkomerson.

After discussing women's roles in Hollywood and badass action scenes, the floor opened for audience questions. A boy who appeared to be in his early teens approached the mic wearing a Wonder Woman t-shirt. "People ask me, 'Why are you wearing that?'" he explained to the panel, discussing the unfortunate stigma surrounding boys who favor female superheroes. "Why?" asked Godot, who is currently filming as the Amazonian hero. Atwell responded to the boy's outfit choice by saying: "You're gonna be the inspiration, the trendsetter. We love you."

Godot also took time to discuss her journey to becoming one of the world's most beloved superheroes. "It blew my mind," she said of trying on the iconic red-and-blue outfit for the first time. "It was like an out-of-body experience. There I was, little Gal from Israel, becoming Wonder Woman." The privilege of playing such a beloved cultural figure certainly isn't lost on the Israeli actress, who added, "I'm very grateful to be the one to bring her to life."

We're grateful too — and can't wait to see more from these kick-ass women.
