- True Blood's Lafayette is getting a new love interest! It's in the form of Southland star Kevin Alejandro, who will play Jesus, an orderly caring for Lafayette's ailing mother (a recently cast Alfre Woodard).

You guys have gotten to weigh in on your favorites in TV for 2009, and now it's my turn: this year was a revelation for small screen comedies and dramas, and I was watching it all, crying and guffawing at some blockbuster episodes. Not everything made my shortlist of favorites for the year — the ones that did, though, were the series I couldn't turn off and can't wait to see more from in 2010.

Casting news is coming in fast and furiously for True Blood's third season! Just yesterday, Alfre Woodard and James Frain joined the show as Lafayette's mother and Tara's love interest, Prison Break alums earned the roles of Sam's brother and Bill's first wife, and Sam's mom was added. But most of us were excited about the recent news that a werewolf and another vampire were cast.
