After all the anticipation and a 15-second sneak peek, we can check out the real thing: a first trailer for New Moon. So far, from this trailer it looks like Edward takes off and Jacob comes (pouncing and snarling) in to protect Bella. I'm a teensy bit bummed that there are no scary shots of the Volturi, but surely we've got several more trailers to go before New Moon hits theaters Nov.

Last year's film adaptation of Twilight was a bit of a critical disappointment despite being a box office hit. The faithful flocked to theaters, but some folks new to the story left wondering what all the hype is about.
I'm hoping the next movie in this saga, New Moon, will be an improvement over the first one when it hits theaters later this year.

Many fans were surprised to see a young, up-and-coming new actor cast as Caius, one of the three Volturi leaders, in New Moon. So I'm wondering if you'll find this new cast member more age-appropriate.
Michael Sheen, best known for his portrayals of famous historical figures in movies like The Queen and Frost/Nixon, will take on the role of "leader of the Volturi."

OK Twilight fans, we have someone to play the Volturi leader and his name is Jamie Campbell-Bower. Based on this particular picture, it appears the young British actor was born to play a vampire (probably has to do with that mess of greasy hair and the guyliner). He's like Robert Pattinson's evil twin, which is about right for this role in New Moon.

Turns out the rumors are true about Dakota Fanning's involvement in the next Twilight movie, New Moon. Back in January, EW reported that Fanning had been offered a role, and now it's official: Fanning will play Jane, "a sinister vampire with an angelic exterior who works for the Volturi." I wonder if this means they'll be beefing up the Volturi sequences in Italy for the movie, which I think might be a wise choice.

Summit Entertainment doesn't mess around when it knows it has a blockbuster franchise on its hands. Before New Moon, the sequel to the first Twilight film, has even hit theaters (or finished shooting!) the studio has announced that the third movie will be released June 30, 2010. Twilight fans, flip ahead many new moons and mark your calendars!

Here we go, Twilight fans, another rumor: Today everyone's all abuzz about Madonna's possible involvement in New Moon, which is currently in preproduction. Of all the names I thought might be associated with the sequel, I don't think I would have ever guessed this one.
We don't know yet if she would be contributing to the soundtrack (maybe she'll provide all the music?) or acting in the sequel or both.

Vanessa Hudgens, of squeaky clean High School Musical fame, is rumored to be up for the role of Leah Clearwater in the Twilight sequel New Moon. For those of you who haven't read the books, Leah is Native American (Quileute to be exact) and also the only female werewolf (hence my image!). If Hudgens lands the role she will join Taylor Lautner in filling out the werewolf pack.
