These DIY Wet Hot American Summer Costumes Are Funny AND Easy

There's a reason Wet Hot American Summer is a cult classic — and that reason is it's one of the most hilarious, awesome movies ever made. So awesome, in fact, that Netflix made a reboot series based on the movie (with the original cast) earlier this year. So what better way to pay homage to the movie that brought us quotes like "You taste like a burger. I don't like you anymore" than with an epic group Halloween costume? Lucky for you, my friends threw a Wet Hot American Summer-themed Halloween party in 2011 — and we went all in with our DIY costumes. Most of them were dirt cheap, requiring a few simple props (like wigs, glasses, a spoon, and knitting needles), clothes we found at thrift stores, and, of course, BBQ sauce. Check out the costume inspiration now, and then I'm going to fondle my sweaters . . . I mean, fondue the cheddar.

"Before we start, I'd just like to say the campers you're about to see suck d*ck! But nevertheless, please welcome them."

Beth: "Listen, Henry . . ."
Henry: "Please, call me Henry."

"It's just BBQ sauce. Come on, I wanna make out."

"I hope you like shrimp cocktail, because I want you to be guests of honor at our wedding next week!"

Nancy

"Beth, come on. My husband's coming today and I need some lube . . . for my p*ssy."

Abby

Abby: "Wait."
Gary: "What? What?"
Abby: "I just want to take off my shirt."

Gene

Gene: "In the pantry, above the sink, right next to my bottle of dick cream . . . uh, wait, forget that last part."
Gary: "Did you say dick cream?"
Gene: "No! I said next to my . . . stick . . . team, you know, stick team! Stickball! Go away, leave me alone!"

Andy and Lindsay

"You taste like a burger. I don't like you anymore."
