Aside from Ms. Frizzle, there's one person who can spread an important and digestible message about science, and that's Bill Nye. The beloved "Science Guy" recently appeared on Last Week Tonight, where John Oliver enlisted him to talk about something incredibly important: the rising average temperature of planet Earth, which directly translates to "the planet is on f*cking fire," according to Nye. The message came in response to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal and carbon pricing, and how everyone needs to take action.

Nye explained that putting a fee on carbon emissions is not a solution, but it's an effective way to reduce greenhouse gases and "incentivize the development of low-carbon technology" because people will buy less of something if it costs more. But when it came time to address the audience, Nye did not mince words. "Grow the f*ck up, you're not children anymore," he exclaimed. "I didn't mind explaining photosynthesis to you when you were 12, but you're adults now and this is an actual crisis!"
