The Tangled Web of Bachelor Hookups

And you thought your dating life was complicated.

And you thought your dating life was complicated. Eleven years, 25 seasons, and two spinoffs later, ABC's reality TV dating show The Bachelor may not have the best track record when it comes to finding everlasting love for each season's winners, but there have been a surprising number of hookups and marriages among the growing group of alumni.

The Bachelor just finished up its 17th season with Sean Lowe proposing to Catherine Giudici, and the engaged twosome is planning a televised big day. The only other couple that's still together (from the same season) is Jason Mesnick and his runner-up Molly Malaney, who married in 2010 and welcomed their first child in March. The Bachelorette has had a better track record with two successes out of eight seasons. The very first star of the spinoff, Trista Rehn, married her pick Ryan Sutter on national TV in 2003, and they have two children together. And then Ashley Hebert married her season's winner J.P. Rosenbaum (also on TV) in 2012. Even the Bachelor Pad has resulted in some love connections. After meeting on the spinoff, Blake Julian and Holly Durst announced their engagement during the finale and married last year.

Some of the more random pairs include Andrew Baldwin's ex-contestant Peyton Wright marrying Ali Fedotowsky's ex-contestant Chris Lambton in 2012. The duo even has a show together on HGTV. And recently we've been surprised by the matchup of two-time Bachelor star Brad Womack dating Sean Lowe's second runner-up AshLee Frazier. For even more unlikely matches, click on the helpful chart we created above!

On May 27, Desiree Hartsock meets her eligible bachelors in the season nine premiere of The Bachelorette — and if she doesn't find her future husband from those 25 guys, no worries, she can always go back to the show's pool of exes.

We've been following this season since the lady limo train first arrived at the house, and it all ended when Sean got down on one knee in Thailand. Bachelor No More: Sean Shares First Instagram of His Fiancée Catherine

Well, it looks like most of you were right: Sean gave his final rose to Catherine last night on the Bachelor finale!

Well, it looks like most of you were right: Sean gave his final rose to Catherine last night on the Bachelor finale! The Thailand-set episode included both Lindsay and Catherine meeting Sean's family and two one-on-one dates. At the altar, Lindsay was sent home in tears before Chris dramatically handed Sean the mystery letter, which ended up being a touching love note from Catherine (they'd been exchanging notes this whole season, we learned last night). Then Sean got down on one knee and proposed to her before heading into the sunset on elephants.

On the "After the Rose" special, Sean looked relieved to finally have this secret off his chest. He and Catherine were beaming as they announced that they'll be marrying "soon," and that it will be televised. Chris also announced that Desiree will be The Bachelorette! It seems like Catherine will be doing most of the wedding planning, because there was more big Bachelor news today when Sean told Good Morning America that he'll be competing on Dancing With the Stars. Guess he really got bit by that reality TV bug.

The Bachelor: Are You Happy With Sean's Decision?

It's been a long season for The Bachelor's Sean Lowe and his lovely ladies, but he's finally given his last rose.

It's been a long season for The Bachelor's Sean Lowe and his lovely ladies, but he's finally given his last rose. After a tearful goodbye, Sean sent — spoiler alert! — Lindsay packing. This, of course, means he chose . . . Catherine! The graphic designer from Seattle could barely keep her composure when she realized Sean had chosen her. She was shaking as Sean got down on one knee, and she instantly said yes to that big sparkling diamond.

To be honest, I went into the finale without a favorite, but after seeing the way Sean's dad connected with Catherine during the family visit, I started rooting for her. I'm happy with the outcome, though I do feel for Lindsay after that brutal exit — she took her shoes off! Do you agree that Catherine is the best choice for Sean?

Bachelor Stars Agree: Des Is the Best Pick For Bachelorette!

It's confirmed: Desiree Hartsock is the new Bachelorette!

It's confirmed: Desiree Hartsock is the new Bachelorette! While Monday was the end of Sean's stint as The Bachelor, it's also the beginning, as Chris Harrison announced the next star of The Bachelorette in the After the Rose special that follows the finale. If there was anything I learned attending The Bachelor Women Tell All taping, it was that there was a clear fan favorite from Sean's pool of exes, and it was Des. Find out below what Chris, Sean, and even Des told me on the bachelorette casting:

Desiree Hartsock
When I asked Desiree if she'd consider The Bachelorette, she wasn't very forward with her response. She told me, "It really is an experience that I wasn't expecting. It really is emotionally and physically draining. But I think it's an amazing experience, and I think that good does come from it. I believe in the feelings, and I know it's real. No matter what someone may say, that's a part of my family. I do believe in it. That would be a great opportunity, and I would have to think about it if I was presented that opportunity."

Sean Lowe
I asked Sean who he could see as the next bachelorette, and he didn't hesitate with his response. "I think Des would be a great bachelorette," he said. He elaborated, "She's a sweetheart. She's beautiful. I got just torn to shreds on Twitter after I sent her home because America seems to love her. So yeah, I think she would be great."

Chris Harrison
When I asked Chris who his pick is for bachelorette, he named a few of this season's standouts like AshLee and Sarah, but he's clearly rooting for Desiree. He told me, "I think if you printed out a poster of the bachelorette, it has a picture of Des on it. I mean, she is the girl next door. She is a young Katie Holmes."

The Bachelor Couples: Where Are They Now?

Tonight Sean Lowe gives out his final rose to either Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter in The Bachelor's season 17 finale.

Tonight Sean Lowe gives out his final rose to either Catherine Giudici and Lindsay Yenter in The Bachelor's season 17 finale. No matter who he ends up with, we hope they stay together longer than some of the past season's contestants. The track record ain't great. Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney are the only Bachelor couple to still be together, and that's not technically correct since Jason picked Melissa Rycroft in the finale but then dumped her for his second pick Molly in the "After the Rose" special. In December, Ashley Hebert and J.P. Rosenbaum became the second Bachelorette couple to marry on TV, after the very first bachelorette Trista Rehn married Ryan Sutter (and are still together).

Sean's finale has us reminiscing about those early seasons and wondering what the couples are up to now. Most importantly, who are they seeing and what are their relationship statuses? We all know the group of former contestants from the reality-TV dating show are an incestuous bunch, and it can be difficult to keep track of who's with whom. So we're breaking it down from the beginning to give you the scoop on where the last couples standing from each of the 16 seasons of The Bachelor are now. Will you accept this rose?

Who Will Win Bachelor Sean's Final Rose?

Monday night is the finale of Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor, which Chris Harrison is calling "the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history."

Monday night is the finale of Sean Lowe's season of The Bachelor, which Chris Harrison is calling "the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history." (Mystery letter! Mom tears! Sean staring out into the distance with his inner monologue voice-over!) For many, the final two ladies are a bit surprising because not only did front-runners Des, Leslie, and AshLee all get the boot, but Lindsay of all people made it to the end. If you need a refresher, Lindsay wore a wedding dress in the premiere, kissed him seconds out of the limo, and later admitted to him that she was drunk. Catherine is also a bit of an underdog, as her silly, cutesy personality — remember her line, "I'm a vegan, but I love the beef"? — made it seem like she was in danger of landing in the friend zone.

But clearly Sean has a thing for the goofy girls, as he told AshLee last week part of why he kicked her off was because he "couldn't find the laughter" with her. The main difference between the two pint-size ladies is that Lindsay made it clear to Sean that her future is more flexible and she's willing to move to Texas to be with him, while Catherine has bigger career dreams and hopes to one day move to New York. So no matter who you think Sean should end up with, who do you think he picks in the finale? And be sure to watch our Bachelor recaps before the March 11 episode!
