Tom Cruise Accomplishes a Red-Carpet Mission at the Dubai Film Festival

Tom Cruise spent today in the company of his Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol castmates at the Dubai International Film Festival.

Tom Cruise spent today in the company of his Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol castmates at the Dubai International Film Festival. Tom and friends Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, and Anil Kapoor began their day with a press conference then they changed into formal wear for the United Arab Emirates premiere of the film. The desert of the UAE plays a prominent backdrop in the film as does the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the city and the world. Tom scaled the skyscraper for a stunt and had this to say about the impressive climb. Tom said, "[up there] I have one little pick and one little rope, I remember just being there saying this is a moment of truth. [It's] one thing seeing it, another thing trying to accomplish [the climb]."

The entire cast, with the exception of Jeremy Renner, is already on their way to Moscow for their next appearance with future stops expected in Mexico, Brazil, and of course the States. The fourth installment in the franchise was expected to be Tom's last as super spy Ethan Hunt, but there's growing speculation he could return. According to Jeremy, it's possible Tom might sign on for a fifth MI film pending box office success and Tom's willingness to play the role.

Paul: The Buddy Movie Goes Extraterrestrial

In Paul, British comedians and frequent costars Nick Frost and Simon Pegg reunite for the first time since 2007's Hot Fuzz.

In Paul, British comedians and frequent costars Nick Frost and Simon Pegg reunite for the first time since 2007's Hot Fuzz. Frost and Pegg costar as Clive and Graeme, two sci-fi fanboys on vacation in America to catch Comic-Con before heading off on an alien-inspired road trip.

The buddies are having the time of their lives stopping by UFO-related landmarks, but their trip takes a momentous turn when they come upon an actual alien. Named Paul, the little green guy is trying to escape a department of the government that has held him captive for a few years and now wants to harvest his brain for research. Voiced by Seth Rogen, Paul is a CGI creation in the form of the big-eyed, big-headed aliens humans have imagined for years.

Hot on their trail are a number of trackers: Jason Bateman is a Men in Black-type with very little sense of humor, Bill Hader and Joe Lo Truglio are a couple of clueless agents who don't know they're following an alien, and David Koechner is a redneck out to get the boys for being foreign. The ensemble of funnymen and cameos by other favorites, like Jane Lynch and Blythe Danner, adds another dimension of fun.

However, Paul is not necessarily all it could be. To find out what I liked and what I didn't, just read more

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have brought us awesome films like Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead, and their latest project, Paul, hits theaters tomorrow. They star in the alien-themed movie alongside Seth Rogen, who plays the title extraterrestrial, and the hilarious duo of Bill Hader and Joe Lo Truglio. A tea-drinking Nick and Simon talked about hatching their latest script idea and their own superpower aspirations, also sharing about some future plot ideas like something based on the joys of crabbing along the English coast. Simon, who also stars in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, weighed in about working with the "amazing" and "thoroughly committed" Tom Cruise — check out their hilarious banter below.

Tom Cruise showed his love for the Yankees in Vancouver last night while on the set of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with costars Paula Patton and Simon Pegg. The actors are busy focusing on their film after months of shooting around the world in places as far-flung as Prague and Dubai, but Tom gets enough free time to explore Canada with his daughter Suri. His wife Katie Holmes is in Canada at the moment as well, and she's the one currently taking advantage of the city's shopping and snacking opportunities with Suri.

New, Full-Length Paul Trailer Is Here — And It's Funny!

When the first teaser for Paul came out, I was disappointed that it wasn't funnier.

When the first teaser for Paul came out, I was disappointed that it wasn't funnier. But I'm relieved to see this longer trailer for the flick, which makes it look so much better. If the first trailer was a primer to introduce you to the premise — two nerdy protagonists, played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, visit Area 51 and meet alien Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) — then this trailer actually shows off the humor you'd expect from this group. Not to mention that you also get to see more of the awesome cast, like Bill Hader, Jane Lynch, Jason Bateman, and Kristen Wiig. Watch the new clip when you read more

Paul Trailer: Simon Pegg & Nick Frost Take In Alien Seth Rogen

It's a good thing I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost so much, otherwise I might be more dismissive of this first trailer for Paul.

It's a good thing I love Simon Pegg and Nick Frost so much, otherwise I might be more dismissive of this first trailer for Paul. The British comedy pair, best known for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, star as two nerdy best friends on a road trip to Area 51 in the hopes of seeing an alien . . . and I almost hate to say that they get their wish. When they have a close encounter with little CGI extraterrestrial Paul, voiced by Seth Rogen, it's up to these sci-fi fans to protect him. If you watched this teaser only and didn't know anything about the project — like, that it's directed by Superbad's Greg Mottola and has one of the funniest casts ever assembled — you may be a little put off.

That said, I have an enormous amount of faith in Frost and Pegg, who wrote the script, and even though you barely get to see any of the other supporting actors (like Jane Lynch, Kristen Wiig, and Bill Hader), I've still got hope. While I winced a little through this first footage, I also giggled at the end. If the movie is full of that kind of silly humor, then I'm on board.

Burke and Hare Trailer: Simon Pegg Schemes, Isla Fisher Flirts

Fart jokes, coy sexual innuendo, slapstick — it's just another day in the 1800s!

Fart jokes, coy sexual innuendo, slapstick — it's just another day in the 1800s! In Burke and Hare, Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis star as real-life murderers Burke and Hare who collected bodies to sell to science. It sounds like a gruesome period tale (and it actually exists in the history books!), but leave it to the two British goofballs to put their off-the-wall comedic spin on the story. Somewhere, the real Burke and Hare must be turning over in their graves.

Isla Fisher joins the morbid fun as a "physical" actress and Burke love interest, which means she's basically the sassy female eye candy. Tom Wilkinson and Tim Curry costar as doctors who stock up on Burke and Hare's supply. Even though the trailer is almost too ridiculous for my taste, I'm in love with every member of this ensemble. The film bows in the UK this month, after which we'll have to wait for it to come stateside. Till then, peek at the preview when you read more

Tom Cruise broke from filming Mission Impossible 4 in Prague on Friday to sign autographs for fans, but on Saturday he was decked out in a military uniform to work with costar Simon Pegg. Yesterday, he was all business as he continued shooting in his black rain jacket and green pants. The combo is becoming a regular one for Tom, who recently had some time to sightsee solo and with Katie Holmes and Suri. Katie, though, went home to California last week in order to attend the Variety Power of Women luncheon, where she was among the many actresses who dressed up for the occasion.

Isla Takes Care of Her Hare Before Sacha Hits the Oscars

Isla Fisher tried to stay warm in chilly Scotland Friday morning as she filmed Burke and Hare with Simon Pegg and Ronnie Corbett at Edinburgh Castle.

Isla Fisher tried to stay warm in chilly Scotland Friday morning as she filmed Burke and Hare with Simon Pegg and Ronnie Corbett at Edinburgh Castle. She's currently logging time with these two, but her no. one funny man, Sacha Baron Cohen, is off gearing up to present next week at the Oscars alongside Steve Carell, Tina Fey and Ben Stiller. Isla, Simon and Ronnie are working now with John Landis, who famously directed Michael Jackson's Thriller. This project might be a little darker than some of her other big roles, but she'll be back in top romantic comedy form with her just-announced role in Kiss and Tell.

Isla Fisher to Dig Up Bodies (and Laughs) in Burke and Hare

Isla Fisher better get working on her horror scream.

Isla Fisher better get working on her horror scream. The actress has signed on for Burke and Hare, based on the true story of two of Edinburgh's earliest serial killers/gravediggers who sold victims' bodies to a medical school (for a nice profit, naturally).

Oh, and did I mention it's a comedy?

Simon Pegg is playing Burke to Andy Serkis's Hare, and Tom Wilkinson has also recently joined as a school lecturer in need of fresh corpses. Fisher will reportedly serve as Pegg's actress-girlfriend — and no doubt steal a few scenes like she always does.

Fisher and Pegg as an onscreen couple seems like a genius matchup to me. Best of all, the whole thing is being helmed by John Landis. The man obviously knows a thing or two about decaying bodies from serving as the director of Michael Jackson's "Thriller," so I can't wait to see what he does this time around.

Sounds like wicked good time, don't you agree?
