The days of Team Edward vs. Team Jacob are long behind us, as there's no denying that Edward and Bella are the first couple of the Twilight series. In Breaking Dawn Part 2, out this weekend, the freshly born teenager vampire and her 100-something-year-old husband are raising their daughter Renesmee. And it wasn't too long ago — in last year's Breaking Dawn Part 2, in fact — that the couple made things official by tying the knot. But they aren't the only lovers in Forks. The Twilight series is filled with vampires, werewolves, and regular-old human couples. See how they've played out their relationships on the big screen now.
It's the ending of an era for Twilight fans, as Breaking Dawn Part 2 hits theaters this weekend. As we gear up to bid a final farewell to Edward, Bella, and the rest of the Cullen gang, take a look at our video review to find out if the film lives up to the rest of the series.
The Twilight trio, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, teamed up for a white-carpet arrival at the Berlin screening of Breaking Dawn Part 2 earlier today. Kristen sashayed into the theater wearing a gold gown by Elie Saab paired with strappy Christian Louboutin stilettos. It's the second metallic look we've seen her in this week, after wowing in a custom Zuhair Murad gown at Monday's LA premiere.
Rob, Kristen, and Taylor are saying farewell to fans around the globe, but back at home they're prepping to take the top spot at the box office this weekend. Early estimates suggest the fifth installment in the Twilight franchise will take in upward of $130 million during opening weekend, and they're off to a strong start with last night's midnight showings earning $30.4 million. Kristen's had great success at the box office in 2012, which could be just one of the many reasons she's reportedly close to signing a deal to star in Ben Affleck's next project. Kristen and Ben are both loosely attached to Focus, the story of a grifter who connects with a young woman and teaches her the ropes of conning.
If you haven't been out to the theater in a while, this weekend might be a good time to break that streak. New releases include David O. Russell's buzzed-about drama Silver Linings Playbook, starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence as bonding depressives, and sweeping adaptation Anna Karenina. Oh, and there's this little movie called Breaking Dawn Part 2 — I don't know if you've heard about it. Check out all the pictures and let us know what you're planning on seeing!
Kristen Stewart hasn't been afraid to show off a little leg — and for that matter, a little skin — on her Breaking Dawn Part 2 promo tour — her latest is just another testament to her sexy premiere style: a gold sequined Elie Saab gown — with a thigh-high slit. She gave it her own styling edge with a pair of strappy Christian Louboutin booties and finished with an unfussy, high ponytail for another quintessentially Kristen ensemble. The statement-making choices keep on coming, which seems only appropriate in honor of the last Twilight film. Click through for an all-angles look at her latest appearance — then, be sure to catch up on the rest of her promo tour outfits, which include even more leg-baring minidresses from the likes of Peter Pilotto, A.L.C., and Louis Vuitton.
Robert Pattinson, in Dolce & Gabbana, and Kristen Stewart stayed close as they left the Madrid premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 2 last night and headed to the afterparty. Kristen wore a bright yellow Dior dress for their big Spanish debut, while Rob was in Dolce&Gabbana. It was the end of a long promotional day for Robert and Kristen. They kicked things off at an a.m. photocall, then swung by the studios of the TV show El Hormiguero. Rob, Kristen, and their costar Taylor Lautner have been crisscrossing Europe over the last few days talking up the last Twilight film. The picture arrives in US theaters today — check out our review of Breaking Dawn Part 2.
While Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart made the rounds in Madrid, their costars kept busy with the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in NYC. Twihards everywhere will get the long-anticipated finale to the Twilight Saga when it hits theaters today, but we've been more preoccupied with what the film's cast of characters are wearing on the red carpet. Last night, starlets Ashley Greene, Nikki Reed, and Elizabeth Reaser showed a decidedly sexier side, with their respective gowns and party dresses. Ashley showed off a moody Donna Karan Atelier gown with a figure-flaunting bustier, while Nikki turned up the glamour in a fringed and beaded Naeem Khan confection. But it wasn't just about the film's leading
vampires ladies — celebs like Nicky Hilton, Rachel Roy, and Lindsay Ellingson glammed up to celebrate the final Twilight chapter. Click on to see who wore what — then tell us your pick for best dressed in the comments.
The arrival of Breaking Dawn Part 2 signifies the end of an era. Since Twilight debuted four years ago, the vampire craze has waned significantly. And even though vampires supposedly never age, there exist a few noticeable differences in the looks of our favorite undead cast. So in honor of the franchise's last hurrah, see how each character has been updated beauty-wise.
Until now, the Twilight story has revolved around the Romeo and Juliet-esque romance between a stoic vampire and a swooning human. Not anymore. Breaking Dawn Part 2, the final chapter of the film series adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels, is a whole new ball game, as Bella (Kristen Stewart) has completed her transformation from fragile, lovestruck teen to powerful newborn vampire and mother. Whether you'll enjoy Breaking Dawn Part 2 really depends on what your stance is on the film's predecessors, because it really is standard Twilight. It's more of the same bad special effects, cheesy dialogue, and laughable moments during tense intervals.
The movie opens following the birth of baby Renesmee, but because she's half vampire, she's growing out of the toddler stage pretty fast. Bella has recovered from that time she was dying (a couple days ago) and is having trouble keeping her fangs out of nearby hikers. Edward (Robert Pattinson) comically watches as his new bride adjusts to her powers and grapples with the news that Bella's BFF Jacob (Taylor Lautner) has "imprinted" — that's a werewolf way of saying he's formed an unbreakable bond — on little "Nessie." Alas, their family bonding time is cut short when the Volturi, headed by creepy-guy extraordinaire Aro (Michael Sheen), get word of Renesmee. They mistakenly believe her to be an "immortal child," and making children into vampires is a big no-no in the vampire world. The Cullens call on all their friends and family throughout the world as witnesses to their daughter's true nature, and meeting all these unusual new characters is one of the film's highlights. Find out what else I took away from the film when you read more.
Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner were game for an appearance on Spanish variety show El Hormiguero today. They played games and joked around while promoting Breaking Dawn Part 2. Kristen was on the program earlier this year as well, as she talked up Snow White and the Huntsman with Charlize Theron.
It was a busy day in Madrid for the trio, who also stepped out for a photocall this morning and a premiere tonight. Kristen wore a ladylike black and white dress and later changed into a bright yellow number. It's been a whirlwind few days for the stars after kicking off the week with the Breaking Dawn Part 2 premiere in LA and then heading straight to London, where they hit the red carpet yesterday.
