The Revamped Jurassic Park Ride Is Officially Open at Universal Studios, and OMG

After over a year of impatient anticipation, Universal Studios Hollywood's new and improved Jurassic Park ride is here — and guys, it looks in-freakin-TENSE.

To refresh your memory, the California theme park announced last Summer that its 22-year-old Jurassic Park attraction would be briefly closing to undergo a facelift and transform into an entirely different dinosaur-themed experience. Dubbed Jurassic World — The Ride, the attraction still transports parkgoers on water rafts just like the original attraction, but it features way more terrifying, realistic encounters along the way.

In addition to the enormous T-Rex situated atop the 84-foot waterfall drop, there are predatory velociraptors, dilophosauruses, and the Indominus Rex — oh, and the mosasaurus — that toothy, aquatic beast from the Jurassic World movie is involved, too. Yikes! Universal Studios announced in a press release that Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, and BD Wong also reprise their roles from Jurassic World and make an appearance in the thrilling ride.

Back in April, Universal Studios Hollywood released a teaser video to give dinosaur-lovers a peek at the ride, and we've been on the edge of our seats ever since. Hold on to your DVD box set and get ready to ride.
