Bruce Springsteen Just Wrote This Kid an Epic School Tardy Note

When The Boss writes your kid's note for school, people better listen!

After spending a late night rocking out at a Bruce Springsteen concert, this 9-year-old boy was prepared with a tardy note for school the next day — it just happened to be signed by Bruce Springsteen himself.

Xabi Glovsky and his dad, Scott, had some father-son time at the Los Angeles concert and brought along a funny sign that said, "Bruce, I will be late to school tomorrow. Please sign my note." Not only did their poster manage to catch Springsteen's attention, he ended up inviting the duo backstage after the show for photos and actually wrote the fourth grader's full note to take back.

Springsteen's excuse read, "Dear Ms. Jackson, Xabi has been out very late rocking & rolling. Please excuse him if he is tardy." Scott told the Claremont Courier that Xabi ended up waking around 10:45 a.m. the next morning — with a big smile on his face — and that the opportunity was more than either father or son could have hoped for. "I imagine that idols rarely live up to your expectations," Scott said. "Bruce lived up to every expectation a 9-year-old boy could have — or a 48-year-old boy could have."
