Adorable Story Behind the “Star-Crossed” Babies Who Are Going Viral

When Christiana Shifflett was admitted to Coastal Carolina Hospital in South Carolina, she had never met the mom laboring in the room next door. However, Christiana and Morgan Hernandez had a few things in common that day: their doctor, the day they gave birth, and Shakespearean-inspired names for their unborn babies.

After their bundles of joy were born, the parents discovered what some are calling coincidence and others believe is fate. "We had picked the name out months ago," Juliet's mom, Christiana, told ABC News. "We wanted a J name to go with our son's name, Jonas. We picked Juliet because we were watching the TV show Psych and the character's name is Jules."

Romeo's name also had less to do with the classic playwright and more to do with a modern-day infatuation. "It's funny because we didn't even name him Romeo after Shakespeare," said Morgan. "We named him after a singer named Romeo Santos that my husband and I both love."

The hospital's photographer, Cassie Clayshulte captured the viral star-crossed newborns swaddled next to each other and has already jokingly offered to take their future engagement and wedding photos should the relationship last. "Both parents had picked these names out early on in their pregnancies and neither couple knew each other until they met today!," she wrote on Facebook. "Both babies have full heads of hair and already make the cutest couple!"
