Here's Everything You Need to Know About the New Doctor Who Companions

On Sunday night, the BBC finally confirmed the names of the new Doctor Who companions, and we couldn't be more excited. Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill will officially be stepping into the TARDIS alongside the new time lord, played by Jodie Whittaker. So, as we patiently wait for the sci-fi show's Christmas Day special, read on to learn a bit more about the actors behind the new companions.

Mandip Gill

  • Who is she? Mandip Gill started her career back in 2012 after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire in 2009 with a BA in Acting. She joined the British soap Hollyoaks to play the role of Phoebe Jackson. After departing the show in 2015, the 29-year-old actress had a few guest roles in other shows such as Cuckoo, Doctors, The Good Karma Hospital, and Casualty.
  • Who will she play? Gill is on board as Yasmin, one of the three new companions. She recently told the BBC that she was "over the moon to join the iconic show," admitting that she didn't believe that she had got the part "for the first few weeks."
  • Is she on social media? Yep, gill is quite active both on Twitter and Instagram.

Bradley Walsh

  • Who is he? Bradley Walsh is a man of many talents. The 57-year-old British star is an actor, comedian, singer, TV presenter, and former professional athlete, although he is probably best known for his role as Danny Baldwin in the British soap Coronation Street. Walsh is married to choreographer Donna Derby, with whom he has a 20-year-old son named Barney. He also has a 35-year-old daughter named Hayley, from a previous relationship.
  • Who will he play? Walsh will play the role of Graham, and it looks like he is as excited as we are to finally see a female Doctor. In an interview with the BBC, the Arsenal fan revealed: "Am I thrilled to be part of this whole ground breaking new dawn for the Doctor? Oh yes!"

Tosin Cole

  • Who is he? Tosin Cole's acting credits include the roles of Neil Cooper in Hollyoaks and Sol Levi in EastEnders: E20. The British actor also appeared in the 2015 film Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where he portrayed the X-Wing pilot Lt. Bastian.
  • Who will he play? Cole's character is named Ryan, and he told the BBC that he was looking forward to "jumping in this Doctor Who universe."
