What I'm Listening to This Week: Miguel, Elle Varner, and The Chainsmokers, Reluctantly

Welcome to What I'm Listening to This Week, a new feature in which we literally just tell you what we're listening to this week — and why you should slam the play button.

There is no theme, rhyme, or reason for any of the suggestions I have this week, but they're all pretty perfect for the upcoming long weekend. Whatever your plans may be, I can guarantee that you won't be able to listen to Miguel's new song just once, and Saweetie will have you twerking at your nearest Memorial Day BBQ. Enjoy this week's picks!

"Kinda Love" by Elle Varner

If you've been receiving (and ignoring) more "U up?" texts than you know what to do with, you'll appreciate this no-nonsense bop.

"Te Lo Dije (Spanish Version)" by Miguel feat. Flor de Toloache

I haven't quite been able to stop listening to this song; Miguel's voice always does something to me, and the fact that it features the Latin Grammy Award-winning, all-women mariachi group Flor de Toloache is just. . . *chef's kiss*.

"My Type" by Saweetie

If you've been around long enough to remember a rapper by the name of Petey Pablo and a song by the name of "Freek-a-Leek," then do I have good news for you! The song was featured extensively on the "PrEgAmE jAmZ" CD I burned senior year of high school, and now lives on thanks to a sample from Bay Area rapper Saweetie. This banger really speaks for itself, and is perfect for your "PrEgAmE jAmZ" playlist.

"Ride" by Sara Diamond

This song reminds me of wasting an entire day waiting for a text from your crush, and I mean that in the best possible way.

"Do You Mean" by The Chainsmokers feat. Ty Dolla $ign and bülow

I'll just say that I'm. . . not a Chainsmokers person, which is why I had to humble myself a bit in order to include this song here. But I am newly obsessed with it, and I have no problem admitting that it's all due to the honeyed vocals from Ty Dolla $ign (I've recently accepted the fact that I'm a Ty Dolla Stan) as well as rising singer Bülow.
