5 Big Questions Watchmen Still Hasn't Answered

Watchmen has been giving us one surprise after another, becoming one of the most satisfying puzzles to solve this year. Stylish and uncompromising, it knows exactly where it's going and how it will get there. Fans speculated and dug deep into the show's mythology and source material in hopes of finding answers, and week after week we've been rewarded with satisfying reveals. But it wouldn't be Watchmen if all the questions were answered before its grand finale. There are still a few puzzle pieces left to fit in, and if you enjoy that feeling of getting it right, you can always try solving these five mysteries before Sunday's season one finale.

Where Is Looking Glass?

Or, as Laurie calls him, Mirror Guy. Last time we see him, members of the Seventh Kavalry are heading into his house with guns. Petey, Laurie's partner at the FBI, finds their bodies later, but there is no sign of Looking Glass.

What Is the Real Identity of Lube Man?

Who is the mysterious silver vigilante Angela chases on episode four? Why is he watching her? Is he the brick from Laurie's joke, someone who seems unimportant but surprises everyone at the end?

What Is Adrian Veidt’s Role in the Main Plot?

So far, Veidt's story has stayed completely separated from the events happening in Tulsa, OK. Yet, he's a major character in the graphic novel and the reason the world is the way it is. Introducing such a big player and not having him do anything during the last act seems unlikely. But he's years away from Earth and currently in prison. Will he come back in time to save Dr. Manhattan? Or is he ahead of everyone just as he was in the graphic novel?

What Is Lady Trieu’s Goal?

One episode to go and Lady Trieu's goal is still a mystery. She forms a partnership with Angela's grandfather and knows Cal is Doctor Manhattan, but while she says she wants to stop the Seventh Kavalry, we have yet to understand how exactly she will do that — if at all. And we still don't know what her Millennium Clock really does.

Will Doctor Manhattan Survive?

Doctor Manhattan, who can see/perceive the future, has declared it impossible for Angela to save him from being destroyed. Yet, determinism makes for poor season finales. Will Watchmen throw us a final curveball and reveal he's wrong?
