David Oyelowo Channels Martin Luther King Jr. in the Stirring Trailer For Selma

We're getting a first look at actor David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King Jr. in the new — and first — trailer for director Ava DuVernay's Selma. The movie follows the 1965 march that took the civil-rights activist to Selma, AL, and culminated in the signing of the Voting Rights Act. The supporting cast includes Oprah Winfrey, who was also a producer on the film; Cuba Gooding Jr.; and Tim Roth as President Johnson. Based on this early preview of Oyelowo's stirring performance, it seems a safe bet that his work in Selma will be a strong contender this award season following the film's Christmas Day release.
