Shannen Doherty (and That Red Scrunchie) Return in the Heathers Reboot Trailer

I hope you have some scrunchies and a plaid skirt suit handy, because a new look at the Heathers reboot is finally here. After a 30-second teaser aired during the VMAs in August, Paramount has just shared a full-length trailer. It's clear that the 1988 cult classic has gotten a modern makeover. Replacing Winona Ryder and Christian Slater as Veronica and J.D. are Under the Dome actress Grace Victoria Cox and Quantico's James Scully, who have to face off against a pink fur coat-wearing, pixie cut-sporting, body positive Heather, played by newcomer Melanie Field. Rounding out the infamous clique is Brendan Scannell, whose Heather is genderqueer, and Jasmine Mathews's Heather, a black lesbian.

Shannen Doherty will also be reprising her role as Heather Duke in the reboot, which we get a very short glimpse of in the latest trailer (she's got the infamous scrunchie AND a gun). The pilot will air on March 7 on Paramount Network, which means you still have plenty of time to watch the OG Heathers until then.
