They've Got the Tools and Talent! Meet the Family of the Upcoming Ghostbusters Movie

The upcoming Ghostbusters movie has officially begun filming, and we already have a look at the central family. On Friday, director Jason Reitman shared a behind-the-scenes picture of the onscreen relatives hanging out at the Alberta, Canada, set. The snap features Carrie Coon, who will portray a single mother, flashing a bright smile alongside Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard and Captain Marvel's Mckenna Grace, who will play Coon's children. Reitman's father, Ivan — who directed the original 1984 Ghostbusters and its 1989 sequel, Ghostbusters II — also poses with the costars in the first-look photo. "The Family's All Here #GB20," Reitman captioned the shot.

While details of the plot remain unknown, Reitman has confirmed that it's not really a reboot; instead, it's a follow-up to Ghostbusters II. "This is the next chapter in the original franchise," he told Entertainment Weekly. "It is not a reboot. What happened in the '80s happened in the '80s, and this is set in the present day." Still, some of the original stars — such as Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver — are set to make appearances and unite with new cast members, including Paul Rudd. So we have a feeling even more amazing behind-the-scenes moments will be gracing our timelines before the movie drops on July 10, 2020.
