If you've ever been into '90s dance pop, you oughta know that when the name Alanis comes up, it's time to turn up the music. Much like her namesake, Alanis Morissette, Alanis Sophia from Florida knows how to put on a show, and her American Idol audition is proof that with a great name comes great singing ability (or something like that). Sophia showed off her impressive vocal range to the tune of Demi Lovato's "Anyone," nailing the refrain and leaving the judges mesmerized. "In the midst of all of this noise, there's the purity of your voice and your personality that requires nothing but exactly who you are," Lionel Richie told Sophia.

Unlike other contestants, Sophia made sure to bring her own microphone to the audition as a good-luck charm. "When I was little, my mom got me this American Idol toy, and she would always say that I was going to be on the show — and it's always been kind of like a dream," Sophia said. "It even says, 'You're going to Hollywood,' so we'll see." Sophia held up the mic as she belted out Lovato's lyrics, and the good-luck charm definitely paid off, as far as the judges were concerned. "It was real, and it was honest, and it was awesome to watch," Luke Bryan said. Watch Sophia's full American Idol audition here.
