Ben Affleck's "Air" Is Finally Heading to Prime Video Next Week

Lace up your sneakers: Ben Affleck's "Air," which recounts the true story of NBA icon Michael Jordan's famous Nike deal as a young athlete, is finally heading to streaming. The Amazon Studios-produced film — which stars Affleck, Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Julius Tennon, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, and Chris Tucker — hit theaters exclusively on April 5, but if you didn't catch it yet, you'll be able to watch the film right from home as soon as next week.

"Air," directed by Affleck, goes back in time to 1984 to reveal how a then-rookie Jordan and Nike struck up their game-changing partnership that has since revolutionized the world of sports and pop culture with the dynamic Air Jordan brand. The real-life-inspired story also highlights the career-defining gamble and vision from Jordan's mother, Deloris Jordan, that helped cement the basketball star and athletic brand as household names.

On its opening day in theaters, "Air" raked in $3.2 million, according to Variety, and has since grossed $74.7 million total worldwide. The movie itself has sparked more awareness about the origin story behind Air Jordans and even inspired the cast to up their sneaker game, though one star didn't need much help.

In an April interview with POPSUGAR, Wayans bragged about his massive sneaker collection, which includes 1,100 pairs of Air Jordans, according to Damon. Meanwhile, the latter said he only copped "a couple pairs of Air Jordans" after filming the new movie.
