7 Facts About Belmont Cameli, Your New Crush From "Along For the Ride"

The highly anticipated Netflix adaptation of "Along For the Ride" by Sara Dessen will hit the streamer on April 22. The film stars Belmont Cameli as Eli and Emma Pasarow as Auden. Joining them are Kate Bosworth, Laura Kariuki, Andie MacDowell, and Dermot Mulroney. The film is written and directed by Sofia Alvarez, who also wrote the screenplay for "To All the Boys I've Loved Before."

You might recognize Cameli from the "Saved by the Bell" reboot, but he's also an up-and-coming actor/model (of course) whose first role was "Cute Guy" on a 2018 episode of "Empire." Get to know Cameli ahead of the "Along For the Ride" premiere.

01

He Played Football When He Was Younger

Cameli included an old picture of himself in a football uniform in this heartfelt Instagram post to his late father. Coincidentally, Cameli plays the captain of the football team on "Saved by the Bell."

02

He Donated a Kidney

Cameli talked on Instagram about how thousands of people struggle with only one failing kidney, and how he's grateful he could donate one of his. "Soon my pain will disappear and my scars will fade away, but the love in my heart from this experience will forever remain," he wrote.

03

He Nicknamed His First Car

In 2019, Cameli parted ways with his beloved car. "Tomorrow the Green Machine departs from the Cameli drive one final time, 19 years since it first rambled in," he wrote in an Instagram post. He joked about how his new car is an ugly color, saying, "I deserve it."

04

He's Thoughtful and Poetic

Cameli shares some of his thoughts and musings in several Instagram posts. "If your aim is a melody a tambourine will seldom suffice… If you share a smile with someone you often get to keep one for yourself. Sometimes the kerplunk of a rock can be far more satisfactory than the skip of a stone; it only takes one go," he wrote. Don't mind me, I'll just be thinking about these points for the rest of the day.

05

He's a Model

Cameli has modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, and he also appears to work with Select Model Miami.

06

He's Punny

"Get a load of this nut!" he joked on Instagram. We don't know about you, but we're all for a good wholehearted pun — especially if it involves a funnily shaped car.

07

He Stars in Various Genres, and "Saved by the Bell" Was His First Regular TV Role

Cameli has acted in the thriller "The Husband," comedy-drama "Most Guys Are Losers," comedy "Saved by the Bell," and now "Along For the Ride." Besides playing "Cute Guy" in an episode of "Empire," "Saved by the Bell" was his first TV gig. Well-rounded and versatile!
