Nikolaj Coster-Waldau's Daughters, Filippa and Safina, Are All Grown Up

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has one talented family. While the Danish star is known for his roles in "The Last Things He Told Me" and "Game of Thrones," his wife, Nukâka Coster-Waldau, is a successful singer and actor herself. (Not to mention, she was voted Miss Greenland in 1990 and even went on to participate in the Miss Universe contest.) The couple, who got married in 1998, have two daughters, and unsurprisingly, they're in the acting business, too.

In October 2000, Nikolaj and Nukâka became parents for the first time when they welcomed their first daughter, Filippa. Three years later, the pair expanded their family with the arrival of their second daughter, Safina, in November 2003.

In April 2016, Nikolaj — who portrayed Jaime Lannister on "Game of Thrones" from 2011 to 2019 — opened up about his daughters in an interview with the New York Post. Although the rest of the world was glued to the show at the time, Nikolaj admitted that his kids weren't among the series's viewers. "Work is work. It's not something we sit down and enjoy," he said. "For my kids, it's just weird to see your dad pretend to be someone else. It's weird to see your father make out with another woman. It's not cool."

Nikolaj also told the publication that Safina once "got really upset" after seeing a clip of her father crying in a trailer for one of his movies. "I get that," he said. "[Acting] is my job." However, Filippa and Safina may feel differently about Nikolaj's job now that they've gotten a taste of acting themselves. In June 2023, Nikolaj attended the premiere of "The Flash" with both his daughters by his side; he has a small cameo in the film.

Filippa Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj and Nukâka welcomed their oldest daughter, Filippa Coster-Waldau, on Oct. 25, 2000. In 2019, Nikolaj celebrated his daughter's 19th birthday on Instagram by reminiscing about the day Filippa was born. "19 years ago today @filippa_costerwaldau arrived and life as we knew it changed completely. For the better," he wrote, alongside a picture of him and his wife with Filippa as a baby.

Now that Filippa is all grown up, she's following in her father's footsteps and getting into acting. She's signed to Lindberg Management, and according to the agency's official website, she's appeared in the 2014 short film "The Girl and the Dogs," as well as the 2022 TV series Where Were You?" and "Salsa." Filippa has also been gradually stepping into the modeling world. In 2021, she had the opportunity to walk for L'Oreal during Paris Fashion Week.

Safina Coster-Waldau

Nikolaj and Nukâka's youngest daughter, Safina Coster-Waldau, was born on Nov. 5, 2003. The actor had the sweetest things to say about his daughter for her milestone 16th birthday in 2019. "Today our second born @safinawaldau is 16. SIXTEEN. So happy and proud of the youngest member of our little family. Fun, sweet, smart, quirky and independent," Nikolaj wrote on Instagram.

According to Safina's Instagram, she's also signed to Lindberg Management. Her IMDB page reveals that she's appeared in the short film "Dagdrømme og Mareridt," TV series "Det Forsvundne Ravkammer" and "Theo & Den Magiske Talisman," and Danish singer Wafande's music video for "Lad Dem Prøve." She also starred in "Salsa" alongside Filippa.

In 2021, Safina made a rare public appearance with her parents by attending the opening ceremony for the fourth Canneseries festival with them. On Oct. 1, she and her dad walked in the L'Oréal Paris fashion show together.
