Josh Dallas Says Ginnifer Goodwin Is the "Greatest Mother" to Their 2 Sons

Ginnifer Goodwin and Josh Dallas have played a lot of roles in their respective acting careers over the years, but their most important is being parents to their two kids. The couple tied the knot in 2014 and have since welcomed sons Oliver and Hugo. While Goodwin and Dallas are open about their adoration for each other, they take their children's privacy extremely seriously.
One look at Goodwin's or Dallas's Instagram page shows they have no problem sharing glimpses of their life, but you won't catch them posting photos of their kids' faces. However, they do open up about their parenting styles every now and then.
"[Ginnifer] is, literally, the greatest mother I know — she's a cool mom," Dallas told Us Weekly in April 2015. In January 2020, the pair stepped out for a date night together and Goodwin told the same publication that Dallas is her "knight in shining armor." She added: "[My husband] also has not slept since mid-May. I'm always telling him, 'You can sleep,' but he won't, he always helps."

Oliver Finlay Dallas
Goodwin and Dallas welcomed their first son, Oliver Finlay Dallas, on May 29, 2014, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, according to People. Their little bundle of joy arrived just over a month after the couple officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony that took place in Venice, CA.
In a since-deleted Tweet, Dallas confirmed the happy news, writing, "Thanks for all the well wishes about our new baby boy. We are in LOVE! He's our favorite person."
During an interview with Jimmy Kimmel that same year (via Us Weekly), Goodwin opened up about being pregnant during their wedding. "I married Prince Charming. We're both Southern, so I was literally barefoot and pregnant at our wedding," she shared. "I was afraid I would fall over, I don't know what I was thinking."
When asked if her and Dallas's parents were upset that she was pregnant before she was married, Goodwin said, "No, no. We may be Southern, but that's their first grandchild. They're all coming back out here in a couple of weeks to camp out and wait [for the baby to be born]."
Hugo Wilson Dallas
The couple went on to welcome their second child, Hugo Wilson Dallas, on June 1, 2016. Before giving birth to Hugo, Ginnifer spoke to People about how her second pregnancy differed from the first. "Now I'm running after a toddler, working on a series and doing a press tour," she explained, noting she was doing "remarkably well."
"The first time you feel like you are pregnant for four years," Goodwin added. "This time, I don't know how many weeks I am. I have to reference my date book!"
As for how Dallas and Goodwin prepped Oliver for his big-brother duties, she explained, "He definitely understands the concept of a baby. He pulls up my shirt every day and pats my belly and says, 'Hello, baby.' We kept telling him, 'Your brother can hear you.' So he just pushes his face into my belly and talks."
