Laura Dern is raking in the awards for her role as Nora Fanshaw in Marriage Story, but I'd argue the ultimate prize she has received this year is a song performed by the Gay Men's Choir of Los Angeles at the Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night. Host Aubrey Plaza introduced the choir's ode as a tribute to "all the gayest moments in film that you might not've realized were gay." These moments included Jennifer Lopez pole dancing to Fiona Apple in Hustlers, Renée Zellweger's entire Judy press tour, the women of Parasite, and everything — yes, everything — Laura Dern.

Laura Dern kicking her feet up on the couch. Laura Dern ordering a kale salad. Laura Dern dressed slutty in court. Just all of Laura Dern. Glee's Alex Newell stepped out in a sparkly suit to drive the point home with a gospel-style finish, while the real Laura Dern danced around with her 15-year-old daughter, Jaya Harper, filming next to her. Consider this musical number approved by Queen Dern. Watch the full (fantastic) performance above.
