Sofia Vergara hit the set of Modern Family in West Hollywood yesterday with her costar Ed O'Niell. The on-screen comedic couple was hand-in-hand for filming in a restaurant before Sofia strolled onto the sidewalk with a baby carriage. She donned a fitted green dress with her fake baby bump and a pair of black pumps for the afternoon in front of the cameras.
Sofia was also seen snapping photos on her phone of the crowd their scene drew, even tweeting a picture of the action. She may not be sporting a faux bump much longer, though, since she and Julie Bowen recently shot a scene where her character, Gloria, appeared to be going into labor.
Sofia Vergara sported a prosthetic baby bump as she and Julie Bowen filmed scenes for Modern Family in LA yesterday. Sofia's character, Gloria, appeared to be going into labor in a store parking lot, and Julie, as Claire, helped her along. It's been a busy few months for both Sofia and Julie, who are currently shooting the show's fourth season fresh off multiple Emmy wins. Sofia's on-screen pregnancy isn't the only thing she's focusing on at the moment. She's also launching a line of luggage as part of her Kmart collection, and she shared a recent sneak peek on Twitter.
Despite a major wardrobe malfunction, Sofia Vergara danced the night away after Modern Family took home the Emmy for outstanding comedy series for a third year in a row. See the sexy star's damaged dress, and find out how she's tormenting her costars on set now that her character is pregnant, in today's PopSugar Rush. On Michelle Manning: Melinda Maria Jewelry.
Modern Family is once again this year's big Emmy winner, taking home the award for outstanding comedy series for the third year in a row. Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet were also repeat winners, a fact that star Sofia Vergara joked about, since she lost to Bowen in their category. Read on to find out how the cast is going to embrace this honor while they can.
Eric Stonestreet, on how the cast will celebrate: "We're going to go out and be with each other and have a good time and celebrate our wonderful jobs and lives, because we know it will eventually not be this way, and you'll hate us all."
Sofia Vergara, on being on the show: "I can't believe I am living this dream here in this country. To be able to have a show like this and work with these people and play this character. Even though Julie keeps winning all my awards, I am still very happy and I will still keep coming."
Steven Levitan, on getting cut off during his Emmy speech: "I tend to be long-winded, so I think I got what I deserved."
Jimmy Kimmel was the master of ceremonies for another successful Primetime Emmy Awards in LA on Sunday evening. Jimmy kicked off the show with his latest star-studded skit which featured Zooey Deschanel, Connie Britton, Lena Dunham ,and more. Homeland and Modern Family were the big winners of the evening, though there were tons of fun and funny highlights throughout. Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad gave one of the most animated acceptance speeches of the evening, ending with a very emotional shout-out to his fiancé. Claire Danes also sent out some love to her "baby daddy," husband Hugh Dancy, without whom, she said, none of this would mean anything.
Seth MacFarlane had an actual onstage blunder when he didn't walk up to the correct mic stand, and Ellen DeGeneres had her own embarrassing moment when she stepped on stage without her pants on. In other highlights, Louis CK was a big winner of the night, Jon Stewart had to fight his way to the stage to accept his 10th Emmy for The Daily Show, and Michael J. Fox earned a standing ovation when he stepped on stage to present Modern Family with its best comedy series win. Modern Family's Julie Bowen took home the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series for the second year in a row tonight and stopped to talk with us backstage after her big win. Hear the on- and offscreen mom talk about having to do carpool tomorrow and find out what her character Claire thinks about Gloria, played by Sofia Vergara, expecting a baby this season.
Eric Stonestreet won his second Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy for Modern Family tonight, and the actor stopped by the press room. Though he's the only male cast member to bring home two Emmys, the actor was humble about getting trophy No. 2. Not only did he praise his costars, he was also grateful for his success in general. Check out what he had to say below:
On winning a second time: "All of the cast of Modern Family, they are my family, we are each others' family. We do truly love each other. We know this isn't going to last forever, and we'll be the old show next year, or a couple years, who knows. We just want to enjoy it while we're here together. I was pulling for Jesse [Tyler Ferguson] or Ed [O'Neill] tonight; I know Julie [Bowen] was pulling for Sofia [Vergara]. It's nice to win, but we want to spread it around too."
On constantly trying to make Modern Family funnier: "The writers challenge themselves constantly. We take nothing for granted. We're very serious about the business of comedy and we are constantly trying to make the scene the best possible scene it can be. You don't become an actor because you like to rest on your laurels."
On what the atmosphere of the show will be like when he returns with a second Emmy: "It's gonna be pretty violent, I'm sure. I'm sure Ed's going to do his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on me, and Jesse's going to cock his head like this. No, like I said, we love each other. Maybe that won't always be the case, but that's the case right now. We're all pulling for each other. There's no competition at all between any of us."
On his Emmy ritual: "My ritual is my family comes out and goes to parties with me and meets famous people."
On persevering in his acting career: "I'm just proof that if you stick with it, and show up and be prepared, then you can stand on a stage and win a trophy. If there's someone thinking about quitting, and if I can be a little bit of an inspiration for them, I'm happy to take that role."
