Lily Collins Hunts Demons in The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Trailer

The trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones rethinks the classic image of angels and gives them a modern makeover.

The trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones rethinks the classic image of angels and gives them a modern makeover. Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror) stars as Clary Fray, the heroine of the movie based on the bestselling book. In the wake of her mother's (Lena Headey) disappearance, Clary is confronted with a harsh truth: like her ancestors before her, she's half-human and half-angel, a combination known as a Shadowhunter. Her job is to protect the human race from demons that threaten the planet. Understandably, she's not thrilled about it, especially when her new Shadowhunter ally Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) introduces her to the Downworld, a mysterious and deadly place located below her home of New York City.

First her mom goes missing, then she finds out her sole purpose in life is to fight terrifying demons? That's a bummer. Though if anyone can handle it, I'd peg Lily Collins for a fighter. This is just the first chapter in Cassandra Clare's Mortal Instruments series, so if it's any good, you can bet on seeing more cities (like those made of ashes, glass, and fallen angels) on the big screen as well. It opens Aug. 23, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.

Gwyneth Paltrow was decked out in tight pants to attend London's version of Fashion's Night Out yesterday.

Gwyneth Paltrow was decked out in tight pants to attend London's version of Fashion's Night Out yesterday. She and pals like Claudia Schiffer, Thandie Newton, and model Natalia Vodianova gathered to celebrate the evening at Stella McCartney's shop in the city. In NYC, things kicked off on Tuesday with Anna Wintour's first-ever FNO runway show. Gwyneth's in England with her family after they were together in the Hamptons enjoying a beachy vacation while her daughter Apple competed in an equestrian competition. Gwyneth will be back to work again Friday, when she joins her fellow A-listers at the Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon.

TV Tonight: The Tudors Finally Bids Adieu

For four seasons on The Tudors, we've watched as Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) romanced his many wives (and women who were not his wives), while growing more tyrannical.

For four seasons on The Tudors, we've watched as Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) romanced his many wives (and women who were not his wives), while growing more tyrannical. Tonight, it seems we'll be laying the infamous king — and the show — to rest.

In the series finale, the great ruler is facing mortality as his physical health and a bad leg worsen. Will the show end with his death? It seems highly plausible, but it being the last episode, I wouldn't be surprised if we see more characters besides Henry die off. The king's past wives will also reportedly cameo (hopefully with their heads intact).

Will you tune in? What are your hopes for the finale? And is it me, or is older Henry kind of channeling The Godfather? Two clips from tonight's farewell when you read more

Movie Preview: Julianne Moore, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in Shelter

Since the success of Shutter Island, I'm definitely in the mood for more chilling mysteries, and Shelter, starring Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, could possibly be the next quality thriller.

Since the success of Shutter Island, I'm definitely in the mood for more chilling mysteries, and Shelter, starring Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, could possibly be the next quality thriller.

Moore plays Dr. Clare Jessup, a forensic psychiatrist who denies the existence of Multiple Personality Disorder until she meets Adam, a mysteriously afflicted patient played by Rhys-Meyers. Adam's condition causes Clare to question both her scientific and religious beliefs when his other personalities turn out to all be murder victims. Naturally, the good doctor is running for her life — and then, protecting her daughter's.

I love a good story, even if I'm terrified in the theater, and Shelter looks even more spine-tingly than Shutter Island. Brace yourself for some gruesome images in the trailer, and don't say I didn't warn you.

Watch, Pass, or Rent: From Paris With Love

It's been a long time since I've found myself excited about a John Travolta movie, and his latest fare doesn't exactly strike my fancy, either.

It's been a long time since I've found myself excited about a John Travolta movie, and his latest fare doesn't exactly strike my fancy, either. In From Paris With Love, Travolta teams up with Jonathan Rhys Meyers as an American spy trying to stop a terrorist attack. Doesn't sound half bad on paper, but something about Travolta's bald head and beard combo gives me the creeps.

On the other hand, movie theaters aren't exactly brimming with exciting new stuff these days — if you've already seen Avatar and the rest of the Oscar nominees, the pickings are pretty slim. Plus, Jonathan Rhys Meyers usually makes for some pretty nice eye candy if nothing else, and it could be a couple of hours of solidly mindless entertainment. The movie opens in wide release tomorrow — what's your plan?

Do, Dump or Marry? Jonathan Rhys Meyers

So Jonathan Rhys Meyers got into a little hot water over the weekend.

So Jonathan Rhys Meyers got into a little hot water over the weekend. It appears he had too much to drink while waiting for a flight out of Paris and began brawling with waiters, which was followed by his arrest. The actor, who was in Match Point and Velvet Goldmine, seems a little intense for my tastes, but when he's not giving the hypnotic stare from hell, he's quite handsome. Do, dump, or marry?

Henry VIII Will Stick Around for Season IV

It's official — Showtime's The Tudors will return for a fourth season next year.

It's official — Showtime's The Tudors will return for a fourth season next year. But don't get too attached: As the show's creator suggested at the TCA press tour in January — when he pointed out that Henry VIII would be out of wives fairly soon — the fourth season will be the show's last.

This season of the show follows Henry (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) through his relationships with Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves, leaving two Catherines (Howard and Parr) for the final year. That last season may be even more dramatic than the rest, culminating with Henry's descent into madness. The final 10 episodes will air in Spring 2010.

The Tudors has performed well in the ratings so far this season, even becoming one of the few shows to beat a competing program on HBO when it fared better than In Treatment the week of its premiere. So, will you see this take on the saga of Henry VIII through to its end? And which actresses do you have in mind for the final two wives?
