5 TV Families We'd Like to Spend Thanksgiving With

Thanksgiving is here, which means we're all gearing up to watch the parade and chow down on turkey with loved ones. Though no one can replace our nearest and dearest, I always think it's fun to imagine what it would be like to spend the holiday with some of our favorite TV characters — especially because so many of them are celebrating Thanksgiving this year. Whether these shows have a family or a group of friends so close they're like family, these are the groups that I wouldn't mind visiting for the holidays.

The Goldbergs
ABC

The Goldbergs

Who wouldn't want to travel back to the '80s to feast with the Goldbergs? Barry is your very own in-house entertainment, and you get to try Bev's retro cooking. Everybody wins!

02
The Villanuevas
The CW

The Villanuevas

Jane the Virgin has become one of our favorite shows, mainly because of the core family. The Villanuevas are both hilarious and heartwarming, especially now that the dynamic has shifted — it's not just Jane, Xiomara, and Alba — it's also Rogelio, Rafael, and Mateo. Thanksgiving is guaranteed to be warm and fun, if not a little bit complicated.

The Pritchett-Dunphys
ABC

The Pritchett-Dunphys

The motley crew of Modern Family definitely knows how to put the "fun" in dysfunction. The family's hijinks seem to be at a particularly high level around the holidays, and I'd love to be there when someone gets a pumpkin pie in the face.

The Johnsons
ABC

The Johnsons

The Johnsons from Black-ish have found a permanent spot in our hearts after two seasons. Dre is a tough but fair dad, and Rainbow is the wackiest doctor/mom ever. They're constantly butting heads with their kids, but everything usually winds up OK in the end. I'm betting food fights would be involved in their Thanksgiving festivities, and I would gladly dry-clean the mashed potatoes out of my blouse to hang out with them.

The Lyons
Fox

The Lyons

Thanksgiving would mean one thing with this family: drama, drama, drama. Either someone's ex is sleeping with another family member, a head is in a box, or Cookie is hilariously insulting the whole family. Yes, hanging out with the Empire brood means you'd be entertained all the time, and you'd get to eat in Lucious's gorgeous dining room.
