Keri Russell's new drama The Americans premiered this week, and we've been happy to see her back on the small screen, since we were such fans of Felicity. Though you surely recognize her from that, did you also know she appeared on another '90s TV mainstay? Russell was once on Boy Meets World — which has also been on our mind since the spin-off was announced. The actress played Mr. Feeny's niece who takes a shine to Eric and ends up locking lips with him, much to the disgust of young Cory (and get ready to feel ancient: this was all 20 years ago). It's worth watching just for Russell's awe-inspiring signature hair.

We've had one big question on our minds since hearing that Boy Meets World was getting a spin-off (besides whether or not Will Friedle is coming back): who will play Cory and Topanga's daughter? Now we know: 11-year-old actress Rowan Blanchard will star on Girl Meets World. The young star has appeared in films like Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D and The Back-Up Plan, and this will be her first sitcom.
Danielle Fishel and Ben Savage have already signed on to reprise their roles as the parents of Blanchard's character, Riley, from whose perspective the show will be. What do you think of this casting decision? Are you getting more excited to revisit this world?

The series will follow the original series's central sweethearts, Corey and Topanga, as they navigate the world of parenting a preteen. But is this a brilliant idea, or should they just leave the series alone? Back in the day, I spent plenty a Friday night watching ABC's TGIF lineup, which is why I'm filled with mixed emotions about the news that Disney is looking to bring back Boy Meets World. The new iteration would be titled Girl Meets World, and would be centered on original characters Cory and Topanga's tween daughter. Disney is hoping to get Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel to reprise their roles, but there's no word yet on whether they've called up Rider Strong or Will Friedle (aka Shawn and Eric).
Like I said, I'm not sure if I'm on board with this. While I'd love to see Cory and Topanga reunited on the small screen, I'm a little worried this new version could taint my fond memories of the series. What do you think — would a new generation benefit from meeting Mr. Feeny?
