I love the segment where Carrie says something like 'there are parties for getting engaged, there are parties for getting married but there is no party for not marrying the wrong guy'. Sex and the City pointed out that it is just fine to be single, that friends matter and life is magnificent with or without a man.

I really think I liked the tv shows better than the movie. I liked the girls in small doses and with something to look forward to each week. When they were wild and single with little obligations other than shopping or jobs, I thought they were more interesting. It made me kinda sad to think that as we age our lives only become more complicated and less exciting.
