Rob Relaxes As Dan Praises and New Moon Breaks Records

Robert Pattinson spent his weekend relaxing in New York after the New Moon screening in the city on Thursday. On Friday night he had dinner at La Esquina, having worn a sexy green jacket earlier in the day for his trip to a guitar shop. Come Saturday Rob was spotted back in his black leather jacket leaving the Bowery Hotel after hanging out with pals, and his old friend Daniel Radcliffe has praised the way his Harry Potter costar has handled all the attention, saying: "He seems to be coping well". While Robert was enjoying some downtime, fans were flocking to cinemas to watch New Moon, and the film has broken records Stateside and here in the UK too. Have you seen the film yet? Twilight Fans Bring New Moon an Amazing Estimated $140.7 Million Opening Weekend!

First, it broke the midnight opening record, then it plowed through the single day one, now New Moon is estimated to round out the weekend with $140.7 million, which will make it the third biggest of all time. The cast promoted the movie tirelessly, but for this the credit goes to their amazing and loyal fan base! Robert, Kristen, Taylor and all their costars now have a moment to rest, relax with friends and enjoy the success of their latest piece of the saga. New Moon Breaks the Single-Day Box Office Record

In its second day of release, New Moon has already broken two box office records. It set a new high for midnight ticket sales, and yesterday it became the biggest single day earner, taking in over $72 million! The record was previously held by The Dark Knight, which earned $67.1 million.

Now the question remains: can New Moon go on to have the biggest opening weekend of all time? Will it land on the legendary list of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters?

Kristin Is Team Jacob and a Comeback Queen

Kristin Cavallari showed off her love for Team Jacob with her water bottle as she stopped off at the Trina Turk boutique to shop with a friend in LA yesterday - get her look here. She's at odds with Team Edward member Ashley Tisdale as Hollywood divides along those very important party lines. New Moon is out now, so perhaps she'll be among the many fans who make it a big opening weekend for the movie. Kristin had her own success to celebrate this week when she was named Comeback of the Year on Us Weekly's Hot Hollywood List.

Robert Pattinson spent his Friday night out in NYC at dinner at La Esquina, still smiling after a rigorous few weeks promoting New Moon around the world. The night before he attended one final screening of the movie before sneaking off to a private afterparty with Kristen Stewart. The movie already broke box office records and with fans out all weekend we'll see what sort of claim it ends up with thanks to Robert, Kristen, Taylor and the rest of the cast.

Happy Hour: Twilight

Well, folks, the moment everyone's been waiting for is here. The second movie in the Twilight series, New Moon, finally comes out today. Whether you're dying to see it or excited that the hype surrounding it will die down, there's only one way to celebrate - with a cocktail! Not just any boring old drink, but an aptly named concoction created by one of San Francisco's illustrious bar owners, Jon Gasparini. A couple of weeks ago when Jon (of one of my favorite bars, Rye) tweeted about a new cocktail called Twilight, I knew I needed the recipe.

Jon describes it as having a beautiful color and balance, and I couldn't agree more. The complex gin and Prosecco drink is easy to put together and elegant enough to serve at a Thanksgiving dinner or holiday soirée. To get his recipe, read more.

Twilight
From Jon Gasparini of Rye

Ingredients

3/4 ounce creme de violette
1 1/2 ounces gin
dash orange bitters
dash simple syrup or agave syrup
1 ounce Prosecco or other sparkling wine

Directions

Combine the violette, gin, bitters, and sweetener in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
Strain into a chilled Champagne coup and top with the Prosecco.

Makes 1 drink.
