Are These the Top 10 Most Annoying TV Couples?

TV Guide has rated the top 10 most annoying couples on TV, and while some of them are no-brainers (George and Izzie, anyone?), others strike me as a little surprising. Tom and Lynette from Desperate Housewives, for example, definitely make for an annoying couple at times, but no more so than many other TV couples. Most of all, though, I think the list should have stuck with scripted shows and not included couples from reality TV because, jeez, how on earth do you pick?

Over at Nerve.com, there's a bit of outrage over the fact that Ross and Rachel are not included on the list. Writer Ben Kallen declares, "When the producers of Friends decided this egotistical nerd and selfish princess were made for each other, they couldn't possibly have imagined the tortures the couple (and the audience) would go through before their long-awaited, completely tacked-on 'happy ending.'" Yikes!

Do you agree that Ross and Rachel should be included on this list? Are there any other couples that just grate (or have grated in the past) on your last nerve?

What are the Steamiest Scenes in TV History?

When you think of sexy TV scenes, what comes to mind? Meredith accidentally losing her panties after sleeping with Derek on Grey's Anatomy? David Caruso's Detective Kelly baring his butt with Amy Brenneman on the premiere of NYPD Blue? Melrose Place's Amanda having her way with Grant on her office desk?

Those scenes have made Buffy the Vampire Slayer scene where Buffy and Spike beat each other up as foreplay as the steamiest scene of all time.

That one doesn't really surprise me, nor does the No. 2 pick: Kate and Sawyer's cage-sex from Lost in 2006. But there are a couple that seemed out of place - like the scene from the first episode of Saving Grace last Summer where we meet Holly Hunter's character buck naked and mid-tryst. Sure, it was hot, but it's not like we knew the characters yet - and I think TV sex scenes seem steamier the longer you've been waiting for them.

Then again, I might consider putting the initial Nate Fisher/Brenda Chenoweth sex-in-the-closet scene from Six Feet Under on my list, as well as the car wash interaction Ally has with a stranger in the Season Three premiere of Ally McBeal. Men Love Kate, Izzie and Gaby, Study Says

A recent poll conducted by TVGuide.com and Spike TV has confirmed what most of us already knew: Dudes dig hot chicks on TV. Still, polling 800 men ages 18 to 49, the survey does manage to uncover some interesting information in addition to just "hot girls are hot." For example, the answer with the most votes in regard to The Bachelor is "No woman I'd meet through The Bachelor is the kind of woman I'd want to be with," and not "I'd love to be on The Bachelor and have 25 women fighting to be with me."

Then there are more of the predictable results:

The favorite desperate housewife is Gaby. Not much of a shocker, seeing as Eva Longoria is the only one on Wisteria Lane to have topped Maxim's Top 100 list - twice.
A majority of the voters said they would stay marooned on an island like the one in Lost if it meant they could stay with Kate, and when asked if they would fake being sick in order to be checked out by Izzie on Grey's Anatomy, the majority voted "yes."

Hiro Nakamura's time-traveling ability is the most desired power on Heroes, winning out over superhuman strength, indestructibility, and the ability to fly, among others.
I just love this question: "If Bionic Woman's Jamie Sommers was your friend, would you want her to protect you if a guy bigger than you was threatening you?" The majority - while not by much - voted "yes."

Lost Producers Answer Questions From the Lost Cast

If you think you're befuddled about all the many mysteries and puzzles presented in Lost, try being a cast member of the show! In the latest issue of TV Guide, the main cast members get to ask showrunners Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof their burning questions about the show, and it's interesting to see what each actor is most curious to know about.

I figured the actors would ask questions specific to their own characters, but this isn't always the case. Some of them are just generally interested in the same questions we ask each other here in the Lost posts every week. For example, Yunjin Kim, who plays Sun, asks a question about the Oceanic Six that's been front and center in my own mind. Of course, Cuse and Lindelof deflect the really pressing questions, but still, there are some gems of information in this article. Also, one of the ways they deflect is by telling us in which episodes we'll get certain answers (the March 20th episode will bring us answers about Michael, for example).

Jorge Garcia (Hurley) asks if Ben is in the coffin that Jack sees when he attends the funeral in the flash forward. Of course, we don't get an answer to this question besides "Before the end of the year, you will know who's in the coffin."
Yunjin Kim (Sun) asks my burning question: "Is Aaron actually one of the Oceanic 6?" to which we get another non-answer, but the assurance that "Who the actual six are is very much in play through the end of the [March 13th] episode. We'll confirm or deny after that."
Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond): "It's 2004 on the boat. What year is it in Penny's world? What year is it when the Oceanic 6 get home?" There's more avoidance with this answer, though Carlton Cuse mentions, "There are some growth issues when you go on or off the island. But I can't say more about that."
According to Damon Lindelof, in response to a question posed by Josh Holloway (Sawyer), "we haven't seen the last of Sawyer and Kate this season. Not by a long shot."
And here's my favorite gem: Henry Ian Cusick asks, "Did Jack's flash-forward in the third-season finale take place after the events of Sayid's most-recent episode?"
Cuse and Lindelof: "Yes."
