At first this sounds like a crazy question because — duh! — creative types should take risks if they're worth their salt, but sometimes when it comes to our favorite musicians it's not so clear cut. Chris Cornell is a good example of someone who recently took a huge risk by departing from his rock 'n' roll roots to collaborate with hip-hop producer Timbaland on his newest album.

Cosmopolitan magazine gathered a few Hollywood hotties together last night in LA for their 2009 Fun Fearless Awards. Chace Crawford took a night off from the Upper East Side to party with fellow honorees like Aaron Eckhart and Bradley Cooper. While 2008's group featured a who's who of Jessica Simpson's flames, this year's crop had one — Adam Levine.

Stars came out in NYC last night for a great cause at Keep A Child Alive's annual Black Ball. Alicia Keys, co-founder and global ambassador for the organization, posed with Jessica Alba who was sporting the on trend bowl bangs. Alicia was able to wrangle up some great celebrity faces to round out the red carpet like suave guys Justin Timberlake and John Mayer both of whom dressed down their ties with leather jackets.

Madonna's new album, Hard Candy, has arrived (sort of, on MySpace, ahead of its April 29 release date) and I took some time this morning to listen to each track and capture my first impressions. Madonna is 49 years old, but if 4 Minutes wasn't hint enough, I can assure you this is far from adult contemporary.
In true Madonna fashion, she's reinvented her sound once again with the help of collaborators including Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and Nate "Danja" Hills.

We're onto the international categories now in our series of polls for this year's Brit Awards. There's quite a range of musical genres represented, which is great to see. I'm rooting for Kanye, but I saw Timbaland live at Justin's Futuresex/Loveshow last summer and he was amazing.

We saw all the million celebrities on the red carpet last night at Madonna's Gucci/Malawi/UNICEF benefit, but the real fun was on the inside. J Lo looked fabulous and glowing with her gorgeous hair and ready to pop babies bump having a laugh with Tom and Katie. Madonna let her mini (and growing!) me Lourdes wander the festivities alone while she played hostess to the star-studded bash.
