You might have thought the World Series game between New York and Philadelphia the other night was huge. Well, Jason Jones and John Oliver from The Daily Show are here to prove that the real competition was between the fans - battling it out for the title of American sports' douchiest fans. It was a really hard one to judge, as you will see. Who was better at cursing, slinging homophobic slurs, and even being the best lady-douches? Everyone brought out their best ~~A-game~~ D-game, but there can only be one winner in the clash of the cretins. Who do you think it was?

Jon Stewart Calls Out Obama on Don't Ask, Don't Tell

On last night's show, Jon Stewart pondered whether gay people frighten Americans more than terrorists. Why else would Obama stall the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT), turning away openly gay Americans ready to fight for the country?

The official word from the Obama administration is that they have too much on their plates right now to figure out how to let gay Americans serve in the military. Jon thinks this a bogus excuse, and points out that Obama continually made promises as a candidate to make repealing DATD a priority.

Perhaps surprisingly, DADT has been shown to have a greater impact on women. A 2007 report revealed that although women make up only 14 percent of Army personnel, 46 percent of those discharged under DADT were women.

Jon Stewart to Bill Clinton: Are You Batman?

Just like Jon Stewart, I was wondering what the heck must have gone through Bill Clinton's mind when he met North Korea's Kim Jong Il with hopes of securing the release of journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee. Well last night, the former president chatted with Jon about the whole ordeal. My favorite part came when Jon asked Bill about his role as Batman, since, you know, Clinton acts as an international superhero these days. Clinton revealed that he prefers to think of himself as a character from a James Bond movie. Check out the clip!

Rachel Talks Heartache and Time Travel but Not Josh Lucas

Rachel McAdams signed autographs outside of The Daily Show's studio in NYC yesterday. She's out promoting The Time Traveler's Wife after Wednesday's big premiere with Brad Pitt, where Rachel opened up about wanting to be a mother and heartache but refused to answer questions about her rumored split with Josh Lucas. Buzz wasn't loving the movie, which opens today - check out her interview with Jon Stewart below. But if you haven't read the book, be warned there are spoilers.

Jon Stewart: Most Trusted News Person Among Neocons?

There's evidence that Jon Stewart is not just the most trusted person in news among laughing liberals. In a recent New York magazine article, neoconservative pundits says they too love the fake-news anchor for his intellectual curiosity.

Republican national-security hawk Cliff May was pleasantly surprised when he appeared as a guest on the program notorious for its cracks against the Republican party. In fact May said he had one of the best discussions on torture he'd ever had. And although former ambassador to the UN John Bolton probably holds a worldview opposite of Stewart's, he has warm feelings for the comedian, too. Bolton, who received a friendship bracelet from Stewart last time he was on, told New York:

He always gives you a chance to answer, which some people don't do. He's got his perspective, but he's been fair. In general, a lot of the media, especially on the left, has lost interest in debate and analysis. . . . Stewart fundamentally wants to talk about the issues.

It's amazing that a staunch conservative like John Bolton can come on The Daily Show and discuss how a military strike against Iran is a good thing just minutes after Jon Stewart presents the segment So You Think You Can Douche blasting Bolton's fellow Republicans. And it's all done on Comedy Central to boot!

When Time Magazine asked the question - "Now that Walter Cronkite has passed on, who is America's most trusted newscaster?" - the number one answer was ~~journalist~~ comedian Jon Stewart. Brian Williams came in second place, followed by Charlie Gibson and Katie Couric.

I can't say I'm that surprised. Using humor, The Daily Show manages to cut through all the BS and present a picture much closer to reality than the one we see on traditional news programs these days. And Jon does have the benefit of being free from a major news network with major rules and relationships to keep in order.

People won't stop talking about President Barack Obama's citizenship this week. News sources from Fox News to CNN are inexplicably giving air time to the so-called "birthers" - people who believe that the president was not born in the United States and that his official Hawaiian birth certificate is a fake. On last night's Daily Show, Jon Stewart explored the (comical) evidence supporting the theory that Obama is not only the first black US president, but also the first non-American president, while trying to answer the question I keep coming back to: "What is going on here?!?!"

Jon took on Republicans, who "want to register their distaste for the nominee" without seeming "as racist as the nominee herself." He didn't spare Democrats, either, as a few of them got a tad bit emotional about the nomination. Jason Jones Gets to the Truth One Joke at a Time

I've been finding the segments The Daily Show's Jason Jones taped a couple of weeks ago in Iran exceptionally enlightening. His visit with an Iranian family last week did more to reveal similarities between everyday Americans and Iranians than any high-level diplomatic effort could have. Using humor, Jones shows how ridiculous stereotypes about Iranian people are.

Last night, we saw Jones's interviews with the leader of Iran's freedom movement, a Newsweek reporter, and former Vice President Ali Abtahi. Coincidentally, all three of those men were subsequently arrested by the authorities. Check it out above.
