Russell Takes His Mum To Forget Sarah Marshall

Russell Brand loves his Mum. He introduced her to Jay Leno earlier this week, and last night he took her to the LA premiere of Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Doesn't she look proud of him?! Following his win at the British Book Awards, a Sony Radio award nomination, and his upcoming single release (tied in with the movie) I think Russell has a lot to smile about. As you know, I was lucky enough to attend a preview of the movie at the beginning of March, and I really enjoyed it, especially Russell's performance and Jason Segel's singing.

Of course writer and actor Jason Segel was there along with producer Judd Apatow, and fellow FSM actors Jonah Hill, Kristen Bell, Paul Rudd and Mila Kunis. A couple of Mila's That 70s Show co-stars also showed up (Kurtwood Smith and Danny Masterson), and Jason's How I Met Your Mother castmates Alyson Hannigan (looking lovely!) and Neil Patrick Harris. No Britney though!

The gang reunited for their final hurrah, but where's Topher? I actually saw some of The 70's Show E! True Hollywood Story this weekend and they make Topher look like the bad guy for leaving the series and not turning back. At least Ashton remained friendly with the gang. Anyway, enjoy some of the pics of the gang and others like Melissa Joan Hart and husband Mark Wilkerson all over each other.

E! Online reports that Topher Grace will join the cast of Spiderman 3. Fresh off his exit last night from That 70's show, Topher makes a step into the big time. No wonder he wanted off the small screen. I wonder what else he has in the works.

I don't know whether to feel sorry for or insanely jealous of Bee Schafer. The daughter of Anna Wintour has a tough act to follow, but at the same time it can't hurt to have a Mother with an impressive wardrobe to dip in to every now and then! The Mother and daughter were photographed at the Landscape Show hosted by Dodie Kazanjian last week looking quite the stylish duo.

Sadly, my Mum threw out a lot of her stuff from the '60s and '70s (a mistake I will not repeat with my own clothes), but I still borrow things from her every now and then. We obviously have very different styles, but I love to shop with her. How about you, do you have a stylish Mother?

Wilmer Valderrama to Play Cesar Millan, The Dog Whisperer

From the department of spot-on casting comes the news that Wilmer Valderrama will play a character based on TV's dog whisperer, Cesar Millan.

Fox is producing the half-hour comedy, and though Valderrama's starring role is only based on Millan, the successful dog trainer, the resemblance between the two men is pretty uncanny. In any case, it's nice to see Valderrama getting a new project, since he really hasn't done much since That '70s Show.

Paris Fashion Week, Spring 2010: Louis Vuitton

There is always a lot of excitement surrounding Louis Vuitton shows and there were plenty of famous faces in the front row yesterday as Paris Fashion Week continued. Marc Jacobs had a lot of fun with this collection as giant afro wigs (made of five separate wigs sewn together) dominated the looks. They were teamed with fun oversized bags and clogs, moccasins and loafers. There was a streetwear vibe with '70s inspired funky prints and piled on separates. Jacobs explained his influence commenting that it was, "about travelers-the movement that came after punk. Then we were thinking about hiking, trekking, and then denim and parkas-city utilitarianism." The vast range of inspiration is apparent in the eclectic line with the main focus being youth.

Room Therapy: Has Anyone Used Rust-Oleum on Their Counters?

Dear Casa,

I just recently moved into a house and am excited about making it "my own." The problem is I'm broke. The house is old and I've already made peace with the fact that I'm going to have to live with some things (such as the horrendous '70s-era orange countertops in the kitchen) for the next few years until I can afford to replace them. But then today, while researching inexpensive options for refinishing my tacky gold light fixtures, I stumbled across this, a paint made just for countertops! Can it be?!

The product claims to be simple and effective (and the video-demo shows this to be true, ha) but it sounds suspiciously too good to be true. I do not want to get my hopes up if this product is really just crap. I was wondering if you knew anyone that had used this product with success or if I'm headed towards a horror story?

I haven't personally tried this product, but I found this blog post from a homeowner who used this product on her counters. The results, at least from this picture, look great, and she says she's very happy with the results.

However, on the blog Tattered Hydrangeas, multiple readers commented that the paint doesn't hold up well at all. Perhaps if you used a sealant on it, it would be more wear-resistant. However, these users seem to think that one should proceed with caution.

Has anyone else used this product? Have you tried to paint your countertops with other products? What were your results? Leave your thoughts about the experience in the comments.

Backstage Pass To LFW Spring 2010: Ziad Ghanem

During Fashion Week and especially in London, you see a lot of things. Some of the beauty looks are edgy and have that certain British je ne sais quoi, whilst other shows exhibit a and polished and safer style of hair and makeup that you might expect to see from the high fashion catwalks. However, at Vauxhall Fashion Scout, a location for up and coming designers on the cusp of hitting the big time BFC tents - anything goes!

On early Monday evening, I was again able to peek backstage at the whopping 21 different makeup looks created by Rachel Wood with Benefit Cosmetics for the Ziad Ghanem show. The inspiration behind the looks was Jessica Rabbit mixed with the late 70's, early 80's boogie era which was complemented with big, rockabilly hair.

The show was called The Immortalist and was a collaboration of Ziad's Maiden Britain line along with Firetrap. To call the crowd eclectic would be an understatement, as there were lots of extravagant outfits made from neon, lace and leather. Also, the front row was comprised largely of transvestites. As for the makeup, I wouldn't exactly call this look pretty. It was more rough and rocker with a few similarities between the models being waxed out brows that were drawn in with high arches, red, or clear shiny lips, and big lashes.

The clothing had a pop art feel, but sadly, I didn't find the looks to be all that groundbreaking. To see more photos from the runway and backstage and to find out the colours that Rachel used on the models, just read more.

FACE:Rachel prepped the skin with You Rebel Tinted Moisturizer and then dusted it with Hello Flawless (powder) to set the foundation.
EYES: Each of the models had a different rainbow look on their eyes, First, Rachel applied a shade of Lust Dusters all over for a sparkly effect and then she applied to lots of Bad Gal Lash mascara to define the lashes. Lastly, two to three sets of eyelashes were used on each girl for added drama.
Lips: The goal for the lip look was over-the-top dramatic, so lips were lined with Badgal Black Eye Pencil and then filled in with Flirt Alert Full Finish Lipstick (a red hot, vinyl candy apple colour). If the models didn't have a red lip, then they wore clear gloss.
