Over the weekend Reading and Leeds were full of fantastic live music from the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Bloc Party, Radiohead, La Roux, Kaiser Chiefs and many more. FABTV: Radiohead "Creep"

Have you ever seen Radiohead live? They rock, in the most Fab way. If you dig their moody electronic rock, add them to your show queue. I once saw them in New York on Liberty Island - it was pretty phenomenal. However, they didn't play my favorite song of theirs - "Creep." I never understood why not. "Creep" was their first commercial success, it blew up circa '93. I remember being at camp and it was always the last song of the dance. And I was giddy dancing with my two-week camp BF. So when, years later, I saw them live, I had to hear "Creep." Maybe they didn't play it because it was so popular and therefore overplayed. Oh well, I still love them and this sweet and sour song.

Burford, this quintessential English town in the Cotswolds, recently placed sixth on Forbes's list of Europe's Most Idyllic Places to Live, ranked higher than Rome and Budapest. With neighbors like Kate Moss, Kate Winslet, and members of Radiohead, I don't doubt that this picturesque village is a wonderful place to put down roots. But, to each her own, right? Robbie Fights For Downloading Rights

Ahead of his comeback on Comic Relief, Robbie Williams was out in London yesterday to attend the first meeting of the Featured Artists’ Coalition. The coalition includes Blur, Kate Nash, Radiohead, KT Tunstall, Billy Bragg, White Lies and Robbie, who will be speaking out to ensure that performers and people like us who buy their music have a voice in the relatively new arena of downloading music. Last night Billy said:

"We have to question the music industry’s insistence on criminalising our audiences. They threaten to kick down young people’s doors and take their computers when fans swap music with each other online. How is someone under 20 going to hear Billy Bragg these days? They are not going to hear it on Radio 1 or NME. They are going to hear it through peer to peer recommendations. They are just music fans. They don’t make a profit from it. We have to focus on where people are actually profiting from our music, places like MySpace selling advertising. It’s all rather murky at the moment about where the money is going. We need more transparency in the deals that are made by the record companies. They have put a lockdown on the debate. They are marginalising artists and criminalising fans."

The FAC will also be looking at issues like copyright in the digital age, what do you think about this band of artists coming together to attempt to make a difference to downloading?

Pay-What-You-Want For Albums: Great Idea or "Idiotic"?

Remember back when Radiohead allowed listeners to pay whatever they wanted for the In Rainbows album? That was pretty cool, right? Well, Robert Smith of the Cure disagrees. He told the following to Music Radar:

You can't allow other people to put a price on what you do, otherwise you don't consider what you do to have any value at all and that's nonsense. If I put a value on my music and no one's prepared to pay that, then more fool me, but the idea that the value is created by the consumer is an idiot plan, it can't work.

What do you think of this? Is the pay-what-you-want tactic foolish? Or a cool idea?

Buzz In: What Were Your Favorite Grammy Moments?

Sunday night's Grammy Awards were so full of performances, I kept forgetting that awards were actually being handed out! My personal highlight reel? Like Pop, I loved watching a very pregnant MIA getting her swagga on with Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and TI. Lucky TI, he's actually in two of my favorite moments of the night - his duet with Justin Timberlake's the other. I also got a kick out of watching the USC marching band backing up Thom Yorke during Radiohead's performance. And I'm still wondering this morning what all that background noise was when Robert Plant and Alison Krauss accepted their final award - it couldn't have actually been booing, right?

Brit Bets: Best British Album

After all the excitement of the BAFTAs, it's my duty to remind you that the Brits 2009 are happening next week, so with that in mind it's time to start my Brit Bets 2009 polls! NME Announces Their Award Nominees For 2009!

Last night the NME Awards nominees were announced, where Oasis earned a massive seven nominations, including Best British Band, Best Live Band and Best Album. The categories range from the musical, encompass TV - where PopSugarUK favourites Gavin & Stacey and Skins are up for awards - film, web, venues, style, and then move on to the more fun Hero / Villian Of The Year categories.

Those American teen sensations the Jonas Brothers have also been recognised, with nods in the Worst Band and Worst Album categories in the reader-voted shortlists, but they shouldn't worry too much as they're also alongside Best Band nominee Oasis. What a fickle bunch those NME readers are! The ceremony will take place on February 25 at the Brixton Academy in London, and you can vote for the winners right here - so have your say in the final outcome!
