Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores. So I take a spin through each week's music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download.
Wilco reintroduction: I've already checked out Wilco: The Album (check out my track-by-track review here), and now it's officially out and ready for you to download!

We know American Idol winner Kris Allen and runner-up Adam Lambert are great friends, but now they might be taking that friendship into the studio: The two have said they're interested in recording a song together.
Nothing's official, but I'm wondering what you think about the possibility. Could Adam's glam rock style and Kris's low-key singer/songwriter vibe merge into a track you'd want to hear?

Liz Phair is known for wearing her heart on her sleeve and sharing her most intimate feelings with her fans through passionate lyrics. When she first hit the scene, those feelings were pretty angsty, which is part of the reason her album Exile in Guyville spoke to me as a teen.
Well, if her song "Faith and Tenderness" is any indication, Phair's days of romantic angst could be behind her for now.

As many of you were, I was saddened to hear the surprising news about Michael Jackson's passing. I have always been a fan of his music, and his upbeat songs definitely motivate me to work out harder. So here's a tribute playlist to the King of Pop.

The soundtrack for Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's upcoming romantic film (500) Days of Summer (opening in limited release July 17) looks like an awesome lineup, and we've already checked out one of the songs, the Temper Trap's "Sweet Disposition," featured in the movie's trailer. Also included on the soundtrack is the Smiths' "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want," along with a cover of the song sung by Zooey Deschanel herself. Deschanel and M.

I'm still in shock that Michael Jackson, an artist who contributed so much to popular culture, is no longer with us. Luckily for all his fans, his music lives on. Out of all his 13 number one songs and countless other hits, it's hard to pick my favorite MJ song.

For her first studio album in four years, Barbra Streisand is teaming up with jazz singer-pianist Diana Krall to release a collection of jazz tunes. Columbia Records has stated that the album, scheduled to hit stores on Sept. 29 and titled Love Is the Answer, "presents the artist as a cabaret and jazz singer of emotional clarity, depth and maturity."

Officially releasing Aug. 10, "One More Chance" is the latest single from Bloc Party and it is one super-charged, danceable tune. It also makes me want to drive somewhere fast.

I totally fell in love with the Sonic Integrity MP5-DS iPod docking station when I first saw it back in 2007, and now my friends, it's on sale. I loved the science behind the MP5, being that it's a tube amplifier system, which generally produces more rich and warm sounds than regular amp systems. Pack on a set of 50-watt speakers and you're ready to pump up the jams from an iPod dock that's kinda reminiscent of an old school science experiment.

Well, it took a little while, given that Jenny Lewis's album Acid Tongue was released back in the Fall of 2008, but we now have a video for one of the singles! "Black Sand" is one of my favorite tracks on the album and I include it in many of my playlists. It's bluesy and atmospheric and the melody reminds me of the kind of thing you would hear on an album like Abbey Road.
