Just like NBC, ABC and CBS, the CW is already giving us a sampling of the goodies from its new fall shows. I'm most excited about the clips from "Gossip Girl" (pictured above), but there are also short videos and photos for the network's other new series. All of the clips are in this video player, or you can also read about each show and link directly to its video by clicking on the show name here: "Aliens in America," "Reaper," "Gossip Girl," "Life is Wild," "CW Now," and "Online Nation."

A year after the WB and UPN merged to become the CW, the network is shaking off many of the programs it inherited and coming up with a lineup all its own. It's heavy on reality shows, with a couple of dramas and a teen comedy thrown in for good measure.

John Mayer stopped to greet a fan as he strolled along the streets of NYC on Saturday. He wasn't able to be in LA for last night's American Music Awards, as he had a few shows in the Big Apple over the last week and is due to take his Battle Studies promotional tour to Canada tomorrow. John has been doing a fair share of press for his new album and spoke recently with The New York Times about his record as well as his ladies' man status.

Mamas of fearless children often encourage their wild child's eager behavior, but a new study may have them trying to instill a lil fear factor into their lives. Results from a 20-year study show that children who lack the ability to fear may have a dysfunction with their amygdala — the part of the brain linked to fear conditioning, emotions, and one's mental state. Researchers found children who showed no fear were often more likely to go against authorities and find themselves in trouble later in life.

It's important to protect yourself and your pets from threats while on walks. You never know what you'll encounter strolling through an area with off-leash dogs or wild animals, and it's important to think about protection.
The idea of pepper spray was recommended in the comments of a past dealing with aggressive dogs post, and in Dean Koontz's A Big Little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog, he mentions the same thing.

For the past five years, Wes Anderson's wide fan base has been waiting for his first fully animated film. Would his adaption of Roald Dahl's children's book, Fantastic Mr. Fox appease the same crowd that holds Bottle Rocket and The Royal Tenenbaums near and dear to their hearts? The answer is an emphatic yes, and the best news is that you don't even have to enjoy Anderson's other work to fall in love with this film.

The 36th annual People's Choice Awards nominees are here, and last year's Twilight is leading the charge! American Idol's Kris Allen was among the announcers this morning for the nominees, which also include lots of nods for The Proposal — but of course, everyone's favorite bloodsucking love story landed in many categories, including favorite on-screen movie team.

After the slums of Mumbai, where will Danny Boyle go next? To the mountains: the Oscar recipient for Best Director for Slumdog Millionaire has signed on for his next project, 127 Hours. The film centers on the real-life plight of climber Aron Ralston, who got pinned under a boulder during an excursion in 2003 and saved himself by cutting off his own arm with a dull knife.
