For this weekend at least, Jason Bourne reigned supreme over James Bond. The Bourne Ultimatum finished its premiere weekend with an estimated $70.2 million in ticket sales, beating not only the other two Bourne films but also the premiere numbers for any Bond movie. It was also the biggest August premiere for any movie ever, and it was a personal best for both star Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass.

After meeting the funny, friendly Andy Samberg and his buddies ("The Dudes") I wanted very much to give Hot Rod a great review. But I just can't do it. Luckily, Samberg himself said once in a separate interview that he knows the movie will get bad reviews.

This upcoming weekend will be very exciting at movie theaters. Out of the following movies opening this Friday August 3, which are you most interested to see? Is it Hot Rod with the funny and charmingly tousled Andy Samberg?

Andy Samberg and his friends/Lonely Island cohorts Jorma Taccone (pictured, right) and Akiva Schaffer (pictured, middle) have somehow figured out how to achieve the greatest thing ever. Growing up together in Berkeley, California, the three are now working together on "Saturday Night Live" and are about to release their first feature film, Hot Rod, this Friday. So, basically they figured out how to get paid to make jokes with their high school buddies.

One of our favorite funny guys, Andy Samberg, had lots of help from his friends at the premiere of his big movie debut in Hot Rod. In the movie, he plays a wannabe stuntman preparing for the bike jump of his life. Andy's SNL co-stars Seth Meyers and Fred Amisen posed on the red carpet, while his buddy Shia was looking awfully greasy, much to our disappointment.

Well, it's no Knocked Up, but the new trailer for Hot Rod starring Andy Samberg and opening August 3 makes it look like a perfectly respectable summer comedy.
So what, exactly, does it have going for it? I'm glad you asked:
Isla Fisher
Will Arnett
For all those who got my reference to the 1986 movie Rad in the Top Ten Ladies of Summer post I did, this is the movie I was talking about!

Isla Fisher has been very busy lately. After starring in the quiet thriller The Lookout this spring, she worked on three comedies: In Wedding Daze (which has also been called The Pleasure of Your Company and The Next Girl I See), she marries a stranger (Jason Biggs), while Hot Rod finds her hopping on a dirt bike opposite Andy Samberg. She also stars in Definitely, Maybe alongside Ryan Reynolds.

Kate Hudson brought Kurt Russell as well as her brothers Wyatt and hot Oliver to the ballpark in Anaheim last night as they cheered on the NY Yankees in game five of the ALCS. Kate's good luck took a day off and A-Rod's team couldn't gain quite enough momentum to win its ticket to the World Series yet. The Yankees still lead the series 3-2 as the teams pack up and head back to NYC for game six and much chillier temperatures tomorrow.

If Lance Armstrong had any input on his son Max's nursery, I'd be willing to bet there is at least one spoke adorned piece in the room. Parents crazy about biking or hot rods may put their ideas in motion by rolling with a wheel themed baby room. Instead of teddy bears and the like, use a ferris wheel to add flair to bookshelves.
