A week from tonight, NBC will kick off a four-night holiday special called Clash of the Choirs. Five musicians - Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland, and Blake Shelton - have recruited singers from their hometowns for the choir battle, and they'll face off live with songs ranging from holiday carols to pop hits. Sugar Bits - Stewart and Colbert to Return in January

Despite the writers' strike, Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart announced that they will resume work on their shows as of Jan. 7, although without their writers. Thank goodness - we missed our fake news. - BuzzSugar
Apparently Pamela Anderson filed for divorce from Rick Salomon after her new husband flipped out because she spent a night partying with Criss Angel. We'll never get what women see in either of those men. -Page Six
Nick Lachey and his Cincinnati choir won the Clash of the Choirs last night, raising $250,000 for a children's hospital in the choir's hometown. That's a great holiday surprise. - AP
Former American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra, who is currently in jail facing a trial for drug, alcohol, and battery charges, is pregnant. Those Idol alums sure know how to keep themselves in the news. - TMZ
Because of the findings of an independent review, the LA County Sheriff's department has concluded that Mel Gibson received preferential treatment during his 2006 DUI arrest, and three employees have been disciplined. It's nice to know attempts are being made to treat celebrities more like regular people in the eyes of the law. - People
David Spade has donated $100,000 to Brad Pitt's Make It Right charity, which is trying to build 150 homes in a hurricane-ravaged part of New Orleans. We always knew that he was a sweetheart deep down. - TMZ

Nick Wants You to Check Out His Cincinnati Choir

Nick Lachey wore his hometown proudly on his chest at a rehearsal for Clash of the Choirs in NYC yesterday. Seeing Team Cincinnati we can't help but be reminded about those infamous Team Nick/Team Jessica shirts. The four-night holiday special kicks off tonight and even though most of you aren't that interested in checking it out, Nick thinks that you may want to change your mind, saying, "People are going to be surprised at what choirs can do." We may have to give Nick and his other famous choirmasters a chance, at least for tonight, besides, with the writers' strike, the primetime pickings are pretty slim these days.

Nick and Vanessa Avoid Jessica and Tony...For Now

After all his hard work on Clash of the Choirs, Nick Lachey naturally needed a vacation and, lucky for him, Vanessa was free to go along. They arrived back at LAX on Sunday after a trip to Costa Rica, where they were awkwardly staying in a hotel next door to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson. Jessica and Tony had apparently planned to be on the trip, too, but ended up in Mexico instead. Ha, that might have been bad news. That said, these two couples should be ready to bump into each other at some point, since Nick helped organize the Super Skins Celebrity Golf Classic, a golf tournament in conjunction with the Super Bowl, and Tony may find himself there for the big game.
