The Christmas dramedy Nothing Like the Holidays really is like a fruitcake: Seasonal, obligatory and cliche. It's unoriginal in its presentation, but then again, it is the holidays and someone put in the effort to make it, so a part of you appreciates it a little. You just don't want to taste it ever again.

Sure, when I first saw the poster and description for Nothing Like the Holidays, I kinda groaned inside. Nothing like another reheated family holiday flick! And yet, now that I've watched the trailer, I'm charmed by this new take on an old genre.

Katie Price has returned home from her week in Ibiza and wasted no time getting back to her horses as she visited her stables near Brighton earlier today. She's been criticised by a children's charity for setting a bad influence to youngsters after twittering a foul-mouthed tirade at Peter. Kate's wasted no time in defending her partying antics during her stay in Ibiza, and has written about her working holiday in her OK!

There's nothing quite like lounging with some pals after a long day of work, sipping margaritas and dipping chips in guacamole. It's not healthy to indulge like that every night, but Cinco de Mayo gives me an excuse to put a little ole into my evening. Because I'll be heading from the office to a fiesta, I'm going to set my alarm earlier tomorrow morning to make sure I work out.

I received an Amazon.com gift certificate over the holidays and a couple months later I had fun loading up my virtual shopping cart with new books. Sandra Novack's debut novel Precious was included in that shopping spree, and when it arrived I started reading it on a Saturday morning and finished it by Sunday. It's a book I'd heard nothing about but it's so compelling and beautifully written that I only put it down to eat, brush my teeth, and sleep.

Before I left for my tropical holiday, I wanted to pick up a good self tanner to help wipe away some of the obvious pasty UK colour of my skin. My goal was to find something that wouldn't blotch, streak, make me look orange, or smell funky. Since I absolutely adore my Clarins Radiance-Plus Self Tanning Cream-Gel I thought I'd make it easy on myself and pick up some more (admittedly, my free sample ran out).

Since the New Year, I have been feeling down and out. I didn't go anywhere over the holidays and my family downsized Christmas. I have a wonderful job that I love, but it's not a 9-5; it's something that I have to constantly think about and it's starting to wear me out.

Welcome back, 90210 fans! The kids of Beverly Hills are back from their Winter breaks (Ethan was "shredding" on his snowboard!) only to find their problems waiting for them back at home.
Take Adrianna, for example.

I don't know about you, but to me, the end of the year seems like an endless stream of spending money. Expenses like gifts for family and friends, endless grocery store runs for holiday meals, travel costs, and higher heating bills might make you throw your hands in the air and fall off your financial course. Don't lose perspective as you head into the final days of 2008 just because you've become accustomed to taking out your wallet.
