New Moon Breaks the Single-Day Box Office Record

In its second day of release, New Moon has already broken two box office records. It set a new high for midnight ticket sales, and yesterday it became the biggest single day earner, taking in over $72 million! The record was previously held by The Dark Knight, which earned $67.1 million.

Now the question remains: can New Moon go on to have the biggest opening weekend of all time? Will it land on the legendary list of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters?

Robert Pattinson Spends Friday Opening Night in NYC

Robert Pattinson spent his Friday night out in NYC at dinner at La Esquina, still smiling after a rigorous few weeks promoting New Moon around the world. The night before he attended one final screening of the movie before sneaking off to a private afterparty with Kristen Stewart. The movie already broke box office records and with fans out all weekend we'll see what sort of claim it ends up with thanks to Robert, Kristen, Taylor and the rest of the cast.

Today is the opening day for New Moon, and I think that by now, it's pretty obvious that here at Sugar HQ, we're totally excited about it! (In fact, we're going to all take in a screening of the movie today). While many fans focus on the vamps and romance, I'm more apt to notice the architecture and home decor. Follow along to see some of my favorite home-related ideas from the first two films.

New Moon Breaks Midnight Box Office Record!

It's official - all that promotion paid off! Summit Entertainment just released the news that New Moon had the biggest midnight opening of all time, raking in an estimated $26.27 million last night! It beat out Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well as The Dark Knight. Congratulations to Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and the rest of the cast - well-deserved partying indeed. Will you be waiting in line for New Moon's release today? For now, let's check out Kristen Stewart's New Moon NYC premiere ensemble from last night. In honor of the star-studded festivities, the lady of the night donned an olive green Valentino dress paired with black Sergio Rossi pumps. The intricate pleating detail is amazing but definitely not my favorite compared to her other post-Twilight, present New Moon looks. Do you love it or hate it?
