The Boys Showcase Signature Styles on the AMA Red Carpet

The guys were left to their own devices on the red carpet at the American Music Awards last night, but there weren't many surprises. Boy bands NKOTB and the Jonas Brothers never miss an opportunity to show off their formal wear, while Nick Lachey got suited up to publicly pose with Vanessa. Chris Brown mixed funky and classy with his leather jacket and bow tie, while Kanye and his tail managed to stand out without getting dressed up. While their performances were the highlights of the night, it's always fun to see what the guys pull out of their closets for the photo ops.

NKOTB Medley on the AMAs - Love It or Leave It?

The New Kids On The Block hit the stage at tonight's American Music Awards to perform a medley of their hits both new and old. The guys danced like they used to and tried their hardest to hit the high notes. NKOTB has been working hard at their comeback this year and this is just another stop on the road. Tuesdays are big in entertainmentville: Not only do all the new DVD releases hit Netflix, but new music also pours into stores, including iTunes. So I take a spin through each week's iTunes music releases and pick out some albums and tracks worthy of a download. Here are today's selections:

Man band: Well, they are all grown-up and reunited, and it feels so good. OK, it's also a slowish music day, but I've been pretty curious to sample the new New Kids on the Block CD, The Block (heh). The album's not bad and is in fact pulling in some decent reviews. The LA Times said the Kids have definitely matured due to the "surprising strength of most of the material." I really like "Twisted" (no really! I do!) and "Click Click Click" is actually, like, pretty! Overall, I'm enjoying the CD and will potentially exercise to a lot of these tracks.

Nashville star: Brooke Waggoner is a piano-playing singer-songwriter out of Nashville who reminds me in a lot of ways of Regina Spektor. Her new album, Healing for the Honey, is out exclusively on iTunes today and explores themes of heartbreak and healing. One song, "The Wrong," is a gorgeous break-up song that I must have for my own. "Young Friend" is a great track as well. Check her out!

Austrian electro-pop: Madita, an Austrian pop singer and actress, released a new single today called "Better Brother" and I think it's quite catchy. Her voice is unique and this is certainly danceable. Take a listen and let me know what you think!

Much Ado About NKOTB, Rihanna, and Music Video Awards

The weather was rainy in Toronto last night, but that didn't stop the stars from shining at the MuchMusic Video Awards - check out the winners here. Whitney Port, Brody Jenner, and Kristin Cavallari all left their home in The Hills long enough to check out the show and pose with Chace Crawford and The Spice Girls' Mel C. Rihanna performed in another of her crazy black costumes and she had two shiny trophies to add to her ensemble by the end of the night. The New Kids on the Block took the stage for a solid nine minutes in their matching white suits, undoubtedly feeling the love from their audience of nostalgic, screaming fans.

The video recently debuted and so, for your viewing pleasure, I've posted it up. But as always I really want to know what you think of it.

Personally, I think it's more than a little cheesy (I prefer Jazzy Jeff And The Fresh Prince's other "Summertime") – but do you love it?
