It's a Big Fat Reunion for Valentine's Day!

Guess who's reuniting onscreen: the adorable duo of Nia Vardalos and John Corbett for the romantic comedy I Hate Valentine's Day! Vardalos wrote the script and will try her hand at directing the movie which, according to Variety is "described as a comedy for the romantically challenged," and "revolves around a romantic, carefree florist who charms a commitment-phobic restaurant owner into trying her theory of 'relationship-less' dating."

The sweetest thing about this, though? Vardalos is quoted as saying "I am so happy John jumped in and really look forward to working with him - and kissing him - again." Who wouldn't be?! I'm so excited about this news! I love both these actors and they were so endearing together in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Movie Night: Family Weddings

Ah, families. They can be so much fun, as well as a giant pain. For this week's Movie Night I've chosen three wedding movies in which family plays, well, a big fat part.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding
This incredibly charming movie has several things going for it: The endearingly down-to-earth protagonist Toula (Nia Vardalos) who learns how to love herself, a hilarious ensemble cast rounding out Toula's lively Greek family, and Aiden from "Sex and the City" (John Corbett)! 30-year-old Toula (considered "over-the-hill" by her traditional family) quietly and dutifully works at her family's restaurant until a handsome patron, Ian (Corbett) comes along. Inspired by Ian's attention, Toula makes some changes in her life and starts to gain new confidence in herself. When she and Ian decide to get married Toula's family is simultaneously happy and dismayed because Ian is most definitely not Greek. Parts of the movie veer toward campy-silly, but Vardalos consistently keeps it real.

Monsoon Wedding
Set in New Delhi, Monsoon Wedding explores what it means to tie the knot as a modern young person in a world where your culture is being mixed with the increasingly dominant world culture of the West. The bride-to-be, Aditi, has agreed to an arranged marriage, yet can't resist meeting up with her married lover. Relatives arrive in New Delhi from all over the globe, as the rainy season threatens to begin. Amidst the many, varied relatives, the beautiful music and the stunning colors of the clothing and food, you feel and sense this movie more than just watch it.

The Wedding Banquet
Before winning Oscars for the gay romance Brokeback Mountain, Ang Lee wrote and directed The Wedding Banquet in 1993, a film about another gay relationship. This time, though, it's more bemused and lighthearted than heartbreaking. Taiwanese-American landlord Wai-Tung and his partner Simon are successful New Yorkers in a happy, long-term relationship, but Wai-Tung's parents consistently push him to marry a nice woman. Enter Wei-Wei, a young Chinese tenant in Wai-Tung's building who needs to gain U.S. citizenship. The two decide to marry, solving both their problems, though when their big, cross-cultural wedding rolls around, mishaps ensue.

Fab Tip: Squeaky Clean Your Patent

When the dad in My Big Fat Greek Wedding said Windex is the solution for everything, I didn't believe him. I'm officially a believer after the YSL specialist told me to use it to clean my patent leather wallet. He said to take an old t-shirt, spray the wallet or any other patent leather item with a few spritzes of Windex ($6), and wipe it clean. I definitely had a duh moment - I'm glad I heard it from a professional.

Criss Angel Backpeddles Away From His Girl Trouble

Cameron was looking super hot in Paris the other day where she's still busy promoting Shrek the Third. Criss Angel meanwhile is busy with a project of his own, undoing the pronouncement of love he publicly made to her the other day. All of a sudden he's totally changing his tune. On Tuesday he told People, "I just said that because everyone was hounding me about it and at the end of the day I got it out there, so my professional life is there, my personal life is here. She's an amazing person and I wish her the best with her Shrek tour right now, and I'm not going to discuss Cameron anymore." This morning, however, he couldn't avoid the subject with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show. Here's more:

First excuse: "Look, I'm Greek," he said. "Have you ever seen the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding? I tell everyone I love them. I tell my manager I love him. They took it out of context. Don't you love your friends? Cameron is a friend of mine, and I said hey, I love ya."
Second excuse: "Listen, Cameron Diaz, one of the hottest, most beautiful Hollywood actresses," he told Seacrest. "Look at me. Do you think Cameron would have any interest in me as more than a friend? No way. We're just friends."
Third, Fourth & Fifth excuses:
Seacrest: Are you dating?
Angel: No, I'm not dating. She's doing Shrek right now in Europe.
Seacrest: Well you should date her.
Angel: You know what, if she is ever into freaky guys that do weird things then, uh ...
Seacrest: You have low self esteem. You just signed a multi-bagillion- dollar deal and you look like a rock star. You need better self esteem.
Angel: I know. I have to go see Dr. Phil or something. It's crazy to me how the press takes one thing and blows it out of proportion. Crazy.

He sure is spending a lot of time trying to take back what he said this week. Wonder if Cameron had anything to do with his sudden change of heart!

OK, so I just got an email with one of the most interesting/offbeat diet tips I have ever heard so I just had to share it with you guys.

"Hey Fit! I just wanted to let you in on a little secret that I do so I stop eating when I am full, instead of just picking off my plate. I spray my plate and the extra food with Windex. I know it sounds weird, but it totally works for me!"
