What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday

All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to my selections below you can take home Will Smith's drama Seven Pounds.

Slumdog Millionaire
Now that I've seen the movie and read the book I'm excited to go back and watch the movie again! Can you tell I'm into this flick? When this year's Oscar winner for Best Picture hit theaters, it began an epic journey into the hearts and minds of moviegoers around the globe, and I have a feeling many people will end up owning it on DVD.

The story follows an 18-year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, Jamal (Dev Patel), who is accused of cheating as a contestant on India's Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. To prove his innocence he reflects back on his amazing life in director Danny Boyle's intense and inspiring movie.

Special features include "Slumdog Dreams: Danny Boyle and the Making of Slumdog Millionaire," deleted scenes, and commentary by Danny Boyle and Dev Patel.

Marley & Me
Aw . . . puppy! Looks like the marketers of this movie know a good thing when they see it. I doubt many of you missed this movie while it was in theaters over the holidays, seeing as it did such good business at the box office. I found this movie, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson, to be good-natured, earnest and cute.

It turns out to be pretty much exactly what you expect if you've seen the trailers and/or read the book on which the movie is based: A story about a crazy, uncontrollable dog who impacts a young couple's marriage in unexpected ways. It gets pretty emotional toward the end there, but otherwise it's too sweet to resist.

The special features look like a lot of fun and include 19 deleted scenes, commentary from director David Frankel, a "Finding Marley" featurette, an "On Set With Marley: Dog of All Trades" featurette, and an "Animal Adoption" featurette.

Ricky Gervais: Out of England: The Stand-Up Special
It doesn't get much better than Ricky Gervais doing stand-up. I could watch this courageous and hilarious man chat onstage for hours. Since I didn't catch it when it aired a couple of months ago, I'll leave it to Netflix for the show's description:

"Funnyman Ricky Gervais unleashes his formidable talent on Madison Square Garden - with political correctness taking a backseat - in his first special for HBO, home of his Emmy-winning series Extras. Gervais shares his thoughts on a variety of topics, including obesity, Nazis and nursery rhymes - even sacred cows such as physicist Stephen Hawking and Nelson Mandela are targets of the comic actor's stinging wit in this hilarious performance."

That sounds amazingly inappropriate, so count me in. Special features include a conversation with Ricky Gervais.

Sugar Bits - Liam Neeson Puts His Acting Career On Hold

Sugar Bits - Jade Goody's Diary to Be Published

Jade Goody will publish a diary entitled Forever in My Heart about her final months, which will be published by HarperCollins after her death. Jade sees it as a love letter to her sons. A significant percentage of the book deal is thought to be donated to Marie Curie Cancer Care. - Daily Mail
Natasha Richardson's family have gathered at her hospital bedside in New York following her skiing accident in Canada. Our thoughts are with Natasha, her family and friends. - Telegraph

Jennifer Aniston has been very busy this week traveling all over Europe to promote her latest movie with Owen Wilson, Marley and Me. She came to London and made a red carpet appearance in Burberry which most of you loved. Although her other European outfit's weren't quite as formal, they were still very elegant and leave me wondering, which Jennifer Aniston look is the most fab?

Love it or Hate it: Jennifer Aniston at London Premiere

Elle cover girl Jennifer Aniston stepped out on the red carpet last night in London's Leicester Square to promote her new film Marley and Me, with co-star Owen Wilson. Jennifer opted for a British name for her outfit wearing a pale blue Burberry maxi with a long gold necklace and statement cuff by Solange Azagury Patridge. She covered up with a chic, tailored blazer (bare arms in London is brave) and wore her hair down and sleek. Personally, I'm glad that Jennifer decided to wear a bit of colour for the occasion, but what do you think of her premiere style?

Owen And Jennifer Bring Marley To The UK

Owen Wilson and Elle cover star Jennifer Aniston are in town to promote their new movie Marley and Me, which had its UK premiere last night in London's West End. The family movie comes out on March 13, and a bunch of UK stars showed up to pose on the red carpet and check out the film. Skins stars Kaya Scodelario and Ollie Barbieri looked cute and casual as they posed for photos, and Jools Oliver, Leon Jackson, Roxanne Pallet, Danielle Lloyd, Gemma Atkinson and Sinitta also smiled for the cameras before they went in to see the pet-themed romantic comedy. So, will you be going to see Marley and Me this March?

Jen and Owen Bring Their Marley Tour to England

Jennifer Aniston matched her Burberry dress to her pretty eyes this evening for the London premiere of Marley & Me. Owen Wilson was also looking dapper in his suit, though he kept things playful with his sneakers. As Owen toured Europe to promote the film, his on-again lady love Kate Hudson has been busy partying it up at Milan Fashion Week. For now, though, Owen only needs one gorgeous woman by his side - and Jennifer looks happy to continue showing off this hit movie while she waits for her moment to kick some ass on screen.
