New Music: MGMT's "Flash Delirium"

I've been looking forward to MGMT's next album, Congratulations, since I knew the band was working on a follow-up to Oracular Spectacular. If you have too, then it's a good news day: MGMT has released the first single, "Flash Delirium." It's a song the band has called a "taster" for the album - so I'm assuming, if you dig this track, you'll be into the whole of Congratulations (read more about it in my Spring music preview).

If "Flash Delirium" initially sounds too different from the dancey pop that dominated their debut, keep listening. Its spare vocal beginning doesn't last, and by the last third of the song, there are happy flutes and a chorus of energized voices chanting the catchy chorus. You will, too.

Girls in Gowns & Gorgeous Guys on the Grammys Red Carpet

There was a lot of variation in the gowns on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards last night in Hollywood, on a night where the dresses are almost as talked about as the winners! Glee's Lea Michele looked stuning in her short black dress, Lady GaGa had heads turning as usual in her spiky creation, Britney Spears went for a daring sheer look, while Katy Perry paid homage to India, where she got engaged to Russell Brand.

Fergie arrived with her band and her man Josh Duhamel, and looked striking in her bright blue dress, Nicole Kidman looked elegant in black, while Rihanna shone in white and Kristen Bell looked classic in her gown with a metallic trim. Stars Rock Out At The NME Awards

The NME Awards took place last night in London, with stars lining up on the red carpet to attend the show, including Alex Turner, Pete Doherty, Alexa Chung, Carl Barat, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding, Dave Berry, Robert Smith, Little Boots, Dizzee Rascal and Noel Fielding. Alexa looked stylish as ever in her black and white outfit and even managed to carry off the painful looking coldsore that she'd been trying to cover at London Fashion Week. Director Tim Burton was also there to award the Godlike Genius award to The Cure and Graham Coxon and Damon Albarn performed together for the first time in nine years- check out all the winners here, and then vote in Fab and Bella's love it or hate it polls!

NME Awards 2009: The Winners!

I'll be updating the winners of all the 2009 NME Awards in this post, so keep your eyes peeled and see if your favourite nominee took home the trophy you wanted them to! Muse beat out Radiohead, Oasis, The Killers and Kings Of Leon to the trophy for Best Live Act, as voted for by NME readers. Oasis have won the Best British Band gong, while Pete Doherty has picked up the Best Solo Act award! Are you pleased with the winners so far? Let me know if you think the winners deserve their awards (or not) in the comments.

MGMT took two awards for Best New Band and Best Song, while the Jonas Brothers were also double winners - taking Worst Band and Worst Album. President Barack Obama was awarded the Hero of the Year award, while George W. Bush was voted the Villian of the Year, for the sixth time in a row! Alexa Chung beat out Alex Turner to win best dressed, and that crazy The Mighty Boosh gang won Best TV Show - check out pictures of some of the winners in the gallery!
