A while back, I told you that I was pleasantly surprised with Lifetime's "Army Wives," which follows a group of women living on a modern-day army base. I thought it was a clever and engaging show that should transcend Lifetime's "television for women" label, and my enjoyment of it has continued to grow with each new episode since its premiere.
Apparently, I'm not alone.

With all the frenzied promotion for USA's miniseries "The Starter Wife," I didn't even notice that another spousal-themed TV show premiered just this week. And I'll admit it: When I first learned about "Army Wives," I rolled my eyes, thinking it would be another helping of goopy-sappy Lifetime programming. Having watched the pilot episode, however, I've completely changed my tune.

I love it when mother and daughter look equally stunning. At Glamour's Annual Reel Moments event, Demi Moore and daughter Tallulah Belle Willis both lit up the red carpet. Demi did so in a black Catherine Malandrino dress, while Tallulah dazzled in a navy silk Opening Ceremony frock.

For Christmas movies this holiday season we've got Four Christmases and Nothing Like the Holidays as new offerings here in the U.S. Elsewhere in the world there's Un conte de Noel and Navidad, S.A.
The French film Un conte de Noel (more commonly referred to as A Christmas Tale here) stars excellent actors like Catherine Deneuve and Diving Bell and the Butterfly's Mathieu Amalric, and has been generating rave reviews.

Actress Kate Winslet has rubbished claims that she was digitally enhanced for her Vanity Fair photo-shoot. She has previously lashed out at the over-zelaous airbrushing and magazines that claim she's not happy with her curvaceous figure. Kate always appears to be refreshingly down to earth, but it certainly seems like she's making something of a furore over this issue.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts has announced the 2008 nominations, which largely mirror the Globe noms — though there's (unsurprisingly) even more love for Atonement on the other side of the pond. The romantic Joe Wright-directed drama leads the nominations with a whopping 14, while No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood each nabbed nine. La Vie en Rose is another favorite, as is The Bourne Ultimatum, which is one of the few major departures from other recent award nominations.

It's time for this week's installment of Bella Donna, in which I profile beauty icons throughout the ages. This week, we're looking at French actress Catherine Deneuve, who's been called one of the most beautiful women in the world.
Over a career spanning decades, Deneuve has become the leading lady of French film.

For those who did not make it to Tom and Katie's wedding this weekend there were plenty of other events to attend. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson joined Catherine Zeta Jones, Michael Douglas, Kristen Bell, and Christina Applegate at the "A Fine Romance" Gala benefiting the Motion Picture & Television Fund. Rita and Kristen looked fabulous but I'm not loving CZJ or Christina's latest looks.

Do you think you're high-maintenance? Wait until you read the two-hour grooming routine of Bethany Conheeny:
After washing her naturally wavy hair, she spritzes, sprays and straightens it with £120 [around $240] designer ceramic straighteners. If there's so much as a kink left, she starts again.
