I'll just come out and say it: I'm obsessed with models. I know all their names, hair colors, and dress sizes. OK, the last statement is not true, but you get my drift. That's why This Year's Model, a Novel ($14) piqued my interest. It's written by famous '80s supermodel Carol Alt, so you know it has clout. If you want to find out all about the glamorous yet cutthroat world of fashion and fame, this book's for you. See it all through the eyes of the main character, the tall and gorgeous Melody Ann Croft. Like many real-life models, she gets discovered while waitressing, and quickly learns that in modeling, nothing's easy. Dun dun dun!

Carol Alt Eats It Raw

Carol Alt used to hit the runways, but now she's hitting the produce aisle, since she's way into the raw food diet. She's been following it for the past 12 years, so what got her hooked? Early in her modeling career, she was told to lose weight and did so by dieting (and depriving herself) silly. She became really unhealthy, was always tired and sick with colds and the flu, and had respiratory issues. When she tried the raw food diet, her health dramatically improved, yet she was able to maintain the lean size she needed for modeling. Now at age 48, she still has that amazing figure and is even showing it off in the December issue of Playboy. Carol's goal was to "promote raw eating and to show women that they, too, can look their best at any age."

If you're not familiar with the raw food diet, it's just like it sounds. All the foods are organic and raw, including uncooked veggies, fresh fruits, soaked grains, and sprouted seeds and breads. Most raw followers avoid meat and dairy, but Carol eats sashimi (raw seafood), carpaccio (thinly sliced raw beef, veal, or tuna), and raw milk cheeses. It's believed that eating a Raw Food Diet can increase your energy level, help you lose excess weight, relieve migraines and depression, lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, and can also eliminate acne and asthma.

Newsflash - Indiana Jones Opens Today

Summer blockbuster season is officially in full gear! Iron Man kicked things off but this weekend it's all about Indy and die-hard fans are already in theaters watching the long awaited fourth installment of the Ford/Lucas/Spielberg film. Shia may be the newcomer but he already knows how important it is to take his mentor's advice. When ET asked Shia what he's learned from the veteran actor he said, "Stay humble." We love it and hope he sticks to it. The cast showed up last night in NYC to express their gratitude to fans for a special screening. Oh and some other celebrities like Eric McCormack showed up as well. He looks so cute, makes me miss Will & Grace a little. I wonder if they agreed with Buzz's review of the film.

Celebrity Apprentice: A Knight on Broadway

To my surprise, I was entertained by last night's episode of Celebrity Apprentice even though Gene Simmons wasn't part of it. Phew! I thought the show would go down the tubes without witty Gene, but a couple of people stepped up their game. Or maybe the edits were so skewed to feature Gene in past episodes that we missed out on traits like Stephen Baldwin's manic giggle?

The challenge last night was to sell Broadway tickets to four shows to raise money for, of course, charity. The guest judge was none other than Vince McMahon, and Marilu Henner admitted to the camera that she thought Vince was cute. Funny, I wouldn't have pinned him as her type. Vinnie Pastore was the project manager for Hydra and Marilu was Empresario's project manager.

Empresario's record was 0-3 so they were extra motivated for this challenge. The women were all business and Nely Galan went as far as saying that her black book was better than Gene's because she had Latinos. Is it just me or does it always seem like her lipstick is freshly applied?

Everyone calls their rich friends and the candidates seem really into the challenge. David Hyde Pierce shows up to help Empresario promote the show for which he won a Tony, Nely's connections donate $5,000, Trace Adkins calles a woman that he met last week and she donates $5,000, and in a nail-biting finish two flight attendants from Virgin bring Piers Morgan a check for $10,000. Bob Sagat pays a visit to Hydra but doesn't say anything crass. Bummer.

I think Piers just took the cake as King Arthur and loved how many times Vinnie said "boom" in such a short time. Back in the boardroom, Vince McMahon announces that the women raised $31,757 and Ivanka broke the news that the men raised $33,300. The men won again! Hydra votes Piers as this week's MVP and I'd have to agree.

Marilu thinks the problem is that the men are always giving 100 percent and the women have a big imbalance. Jennie Finch and Carol Alt had the "garbage jobs" that nobody else wanted, and Omarosa thinks Carol should go because she "flies below the radar." Carol retorts that "Omarosa is weak because she tries to make others feel insecure by exploiting their weaknesses." Good point. Cleavage is becoming Omarosa's signature accessory.

In the judges' deliberations Ivanka says that Marilu is Empresario's only hope and I think she's right. Jennie and Carol join Marilu in the boardroom, and Jennie admits that she can't compete and isn't accustomed to such a harsh environment. Donald fires Jennie and tells her that it just isn't her world, but he likes her world better. Everyone agrees that firing Jennie was the right choice, including me.

Celebrity Apprentice: Going to the Dogs

The second episode of The Celebrity Apprentice was as full of celeb sass and smack talking as the first one, and I'm officially a follower. Instead of dishing out hot dogs like they did last week, the candidates were challenged to create a 30-second community service TV spot using actual dogs. The commercial will be aired during Pedigree's Adoption Drive and Terry London, head of marketing at Macy's, will be helping the Trumps decide which celeb is fired this week.

Donald makes the teams decide the project manager on the spot. Empresario (women's team) chooses Nely Galan to produce their spot and Hydra (men's team) chooses Gene Simmons because of his marketing skills. Gene says of himself, "I'm ruthless. I'll fire anybody. I'll fire Donald Trump." He seems to really get a kick out of himself. The two project managers couldn't be more different from one another. Nely tries to get everyone focused from within when she says, "Imagine white light coming in and now imagine that white light leaving you." Um, what?

The women speak with the client (Pedigree) while the men opt to save time by going with their instincts. Ivanka pays team Hydra a visit and Gene hurts her feelings when he tells her that she's interrupting them. Then, he suggests that she'll go tell the women what the men are up to simply because she's female. He eventually apologizes to Ivanka in the boardroom and even removes his sunglasses to do so, and Omarosa tries to make him look worse by suggesting that he insulted Ivanka's integrity.

I'll admit, as much as Gene is my favorite to win the show, I was hoping the women would get a win this week. The women failed to use their celebrity again - didn't they learn anything last week? Instead, they hired cheesy actors and even used slow motion wind in the hair for one actress. The men's commercial starred Lennox Lewis and a cute-as-hell dog, with Trace Adkins doing the voice over. Gene compared Trace's voice to the "voice of God" and Donald said that it's "genius" to use his voice. Pedigree loves the men's commercial and team Hydra is safe for another week.

Even though Marilu Henner was in charge of the unsuccessful voice overs, Nely picks Nadia Comaneci and Carol Alt to face the big dogs. Donald tells Carol she's safe and criticizes Nely for not bringing Marilu back into the boardroom, and asks Nely and Nadia why they each think they should stay. Nely says that she's "exceptional" and Nadia just stutters - not a very convincing response. In the most reassuring way, Donald fires Nadia because he doubts her ability to lead others. He tells her that he's a fan and "loves her" - who knew Donald was such a big fan of gymnastics?!

I can see Donald's point in firing Nadia, but Nely really annoyed me when she said that her biggest mistake in the challenge was being "too ambitious." That's like when an interviewer asks you what your weakness is, and you respond by saying that you're a perfectionist. It's a big no-no. Omarosa strategically kept her mouth shut this week, except at the very beginning of the show when she called Piers Morgan an alcoholic. I'm sure we'll get more drama from those two nemeses next week.

Celebrities Still Sitting Pretty at Fashion Week

Fergie isn't ready to take off her sunglasses for the red carpet just yet, but the rest of her celebrity cohorts are battling Fashion Week fatigue and looking great as the shows barrel on. Eric Dane caught up with his wife Rebecca Gayheart for the G-Star show where Heather Graham wore silly boots but got to sit next to some serious eye candy Tyson Beckford. Rihanna went sheer to watch the Matthew Williamson collection strut down the runway and Miss Fergs looks like she went back in time to the 70s to catch the Marc by Marc show. While Taylor Momsen is the only Gossip Girl we've seen roaming Bryant Park this week, gossip boy Chace Crawford caught the Diesel show yesterday afternoon. Fashion Week Starts Off With a Big (Red) Bang

Today is National Red Day, and the runway at NY Fashion Week certainly reflected that. Jenna Fischer and Sara Ramirez were happy to add a modeling gig to their resumes for the good cause, alongside seasoned veteran Heidi Klum at the Heart Truth Red Dress Collection fashion show. Chris Noth looked a little confused over at the Nautica show, but maybe he was just blinded by all the beautiful ladies and designs. Project Runway's Christian was there to check out the fierce looks coming from Perry Ellis before the big PR show next week, which lucky girls Fab and Bella get to go to. Celebrity Apprentice: Mr. Outside the Box

Last night's episode of The Celebrity Apprentice was only entertaining because of Gene Simmons's out-there commentary. Oh, and of course the major shock of who Donald fired. I'll still be tuning in each week, but the challenge last night was a total let down after the last two episodes. In order to enjoy a reality show where the contestants have nothing to really gain or lose, the challenges need to be interesting enough for me to really care about the show.

The challenge this week was a marketing campaign for Kodak and the contestants were judged on originality, brand messaging, and profit. Jim Cramer was the guest judge, Boo Ya!
Donald gave Gene Simmons the option of being the project manager for Empresario and he, of course, took it. Gene told his new team that he's a "benevolent dictator" and the camera that he's "the king of all women." Tito Ortiz took responsibility to lead team Hydra.
Gene declared himself "Mr. Outside the Box" and didn't feel the need to meet with the Kodak executives so he just sent Nely Galan and Carol Alt. Nely interrupted the executives every two seconds. Meanwhile, Hydra met with Kodak and got their message of "affordable ink" perfectly.
The men had a photo shoot for their "knockout deal" campaign featuring Tito and Lennox Lewis. Stephen Baldwin walked and walked all over the boardroom taking pictures from above, and coffee spilled on their laptop holding all the artwork when everyone gets off the table.

When facing the Trumps and Jim Cramer, Omarosa (and her cleavage) pointed out that Gene doesn't even know the name of the printer they were marketing. She was right.
Hydra won the challenge, even though their presentation was sloppy, because they got the message right. Donald asks Gene to pick two people to bring back to the boardroom, and he wanted to choose only Omarosa.
Donald said that Gene can't simply pick Omarosa because he doesn't like her, so Gene brought Jennie back as well. Donald basically tells Gene that he should bring back Nely, but for some reason he doesn't comply.
Gene Simmons ends up being fired, though it was obvious that wouldn't have been the case if Nely were one of his choices. Donald called Gene "the most independent thinker there is."
Jim Cramer was baffled and said "I can't believe what I just saw." Donald responds, "We had no choice."

They really didn't have a choice. I think this was Gene's way of taking the blame for losing the challenge. He knew if he brought Nely back that she'd be fired. I'll miss his one liners, and now I need someone else to pick as a favorite to win it all.

Celebrity Apprentice: "Selling Hot Dogs"

In last night's episode of The Celebrity Apprentice, Donald Trump showed us he's still the same tough businessman he's always been - except am I the only one who thought he looked abnormally broad, like he was wearing extra shoulder pads? I think the old Apprentice got a surge of new life with its celebrity twist. Maybe it's because my expectations weren't too high for the first episode, but I was thoroughly entertained the entire hour. It probably doesn't hurt that I love fierce competition!

The episode opens with Donald informing the celebrities that they're all "commodities" and should use their "personal brand" to help them. While you and me aren't celebs with recognizable faces and reputations, we should always be working on our own brand. These are the qualities that you essentially sell to an interviewer to set you apart from the rest. Those are my two cents - now back to the drama!

The fourteen celebrity candidates are split into teams based on gender, which I think really heightens the competitive spirit. Omarosa volunteers to be the project manager for the women (team Empresario) and Stephen Baldwin steps up for the men (team Hydra). Immediately we're faced with striking differences in the teams' approaches - Nely Galan announces that she's brought matching hats for the team to symbolize unity, while the men are busy researching if the mythological Hydra had seven or three heads. I have to say, the hats have a huge lame factor.

Stephen Baldwin's team whips Omarosa's team; the men raise $52,286 to the women's $17,038.79 and all of the money goes to a charity of Stephen's choice. The boardroom is full of animosity and there's an especially insulting exchange between Piers Morgan and Omarosa; he basically tells her that she's not a real celebrity and she calls him a "British asshole." I look forward to seeing how this relationship develops!

Omarosa drags Carol Alt and Tiffany Fallon to face the Trumps, but in the end Donald fires the former Playmate of the Year (Tiffany) for failing to call Hugh Hefner to buy an expensive hot dog. While Omarosa's viciousness makes my skin crawl and I'd like to see her get the boot, I think Donald made the right choice in the candidate he fired. Tiffany failed to use her celebrity and that was the whole point of the challenge. Following directions is a basic skill but if you don't have it, your employer will definitely notice.

Gene Simmons is still my favorite to take the cake, he certainly proved his celebrity in the first challenge and has some terrific one liners like “Omarosa is a survivor - like a cockroach - you cannot kill her!” I'm going to watch out for Nadia Comaneci though; did anyone else notice she hardly spoke one word the entire episode? She may have some tricks up her gymnast sleeve.
