Ed Shows Off Californication Skills, Eats With Jessica in NYC

It's a Gossip Girl kind of week as season three starts on Wednesday night on ITV2! Ed Westwick was out and about looking low-key with his girlfriend and costar Jessica Szohr yesterday. The couple went out to lunch at a restaurant called Bubby's in New York, with Ed clutching a CD by Plastiscines in his hand. In a departure from his role as Chuck, Ed's appeared in US TV series Californication, playing a rather different lad - a student of David Duchovny's character. TV Tonight: ABC Dramas and Showtime Hits

It's a busy night for premieres! There are a few notable hour-long dramas returning for the Fall season tonight, so make sure your DVR is ready to go.

First Showtime has Dexter's fourth season premiere, followed by Californication's third. I can't wait to see how Dexter balances his life as a family man along with his serial issues. Then, on Californication there'll be more eye candy than just David Duchovny: Ed Westwick will be guest starring tonight, as I showed you in my sneak peek.

Over on ABC, it's the return of Desperate Housewives and we'll finally figure out who Mike chose (which my look at the season may or may not have revealed).

Another Look at Season Three of Californication

A new promo for the third season of Californication has been released, and this one's a little more family-oriented than the preview we saw a few weeks ago. Girls and sex will never be far from Hank Moody's thoughts, but it looks like the upcoming episodes will also explore his relationship with his daughter a bit further.

Becca is clearly not a kid anymore, and Hank may finally have to grow up a little to get through to her. I'm already loving the witty father-daughter banter (even when things get a bit heated). We've still got a few weeks to go before the Sept. 27 premiere, but check out the clip after the jump for another sneak preview.

First Look: Californication Season Three

What happens when you put notorious womanizer Hank Moody in a classroom full of lovely college girls? That's what we'll find out when Californication starts its third season this Fall. From the preview below, I can guess that nothing wholesome will come from this situation, but it should be awfully entertaining.

When the new season begins, school's in session for Hank (David Duchovny), and with Karen across the country, Hank seems to be embracing his freedom. How much trouble can this "girl whisperer" (as guest star Peter Gallagher calls him in the preview clip) get into? I had to laugh when Hank's daughter asks why there's a naked lady in her bedroom - isn't that just par for the course in the Moody household?

Gallagher is just one of many guest stars lined up for this season: Kathleen Turner, Eva Amurri, Ed Westwick, Diane Farr, and Rick Springfield will also make appearances. The new season kicks off Sept. 27, and to get your first look, just read more.

David Puts On His Shirt and Gets Arrested

David Duchovny filmed scenes for Californication with Natascha McElhone in LA yesterday. It looks like bloodied-up Hank got into some trouble with the law as he was handcuffed on set. David's been hard at work on the newest season of his show, but he keeps the weekends reserved for beach time with Tea and their kids.

David's Hank Is in a Carefree Mood

David Duchovny filmed scenes for Californication at Venice Beach with Evan Handler yesterday. Staying true to Hank's character, he looked like a bit lost, stumbling around and dancing with a cigarette in his mouth. While we'll have to wait until season three to see what happens with Hank's love life, David's been happily spending time with Tea Leoni and their kids off camera.
