First Look: Dane Cook, Kate Hudson in My Best Friend's Girl

Oh, wow, what have we here? Dane Cook playing a gross jerk again - only this time, he gets paid for it. And, in the end, it looks like he gets Kate Hudson. The trailer for My Best Friend's Girl (previously titled Bachelor No. 2), in which Cook plays a guy who dates a girl (Kate Hudson) with the intention of acting so heinously she's driven back to the arms of Cook's buddy (Jason Biggs), leaves quite a bit to be desired. It looks generic and not particularly amusing, but maybe it will deliver something fresh when we see it in its entirety? Hey, I can give it the benefit of the doubt (especially since the bit with Alec Baldwin is pretty funny). Judgment day will come September 19 when the movie comes out. Kate Runs Around Bachelor No. 2

Even though Good Luck Chuck wasn't exactly a hit at the box office, Dane Cook doesn't seem to be slowing down. He was already back to work on his next movie Bachelor No. 2 with Kate Hudson in Boston today. Kate looks adorable and fit while Dane's knee pads seem a bit overly cautious for a jog through the park, but maybe that's supposed to be the funny part. Hey, it's gotta be better than cheap jokes and gross comedy, right?

Kate Hudson Back To Work in Boston

Kate Hudson was back in Boston on the set of Bachelor No. 2. She went from casual bike rides and routine visits to Starbucks to getting glam in a variety of dresses on the set. Seems as if the red trend is everywhere these days including movies. Kate looks a bit lonely in these pictures but hopefully her favorite little man Ryder is there to cheer her up after a long day of work.

Kate's Hanging With Another Set of Boys

Kate Hudson took a break from cute Ryder and Dax to get back to work on Bachelor No. 2 in Boston this week. In the movie Dane plays a man who is hired by recently dumped guys to take their ex girlfriends on bad dates in order to convince them to return to their boyfriends. I can only assume that trouble arises when Dane has to take out Kate and convince her to return to Jason - only Dane falls for her instead. Nothing too groundbreaking, of course, but Kate always manages to be endearing on screen. Plus, everyone has a soft spot for Jason Biggs, right?

Kate & Ryder Take On Beantown

Kate Hudson spent some time in Boston (holla!) with her little man Ryder this week filming Bachelor No. 2 costarring Dane Cook. Kate looked absolutely adorable in her shirt dress walking on Newbury Street with Ryder who was a lucky boy with his balloon. Kate may have a new romance in her life these days, but she's never faltered on the number one man in her life -- her adorable son.

Kate Hudson has been cast in the comedy Bachelor No. 2, a movie that "revolves around a man who is hired by men who have been dumped to take their ex-girlfriends out on nightmare dates, thereby convincing the women to return to their boyfriends. But trouble arises when [the man]'s character is hired to take out the ex-girlfriend of his best pal."

The bad news:
Dane Cook is Hudson's romantic co"star."

Sigh.
Poor Kate. I guess a girl's gotta make a buck somehow.

John Krasinski Gets a New Office

John Krasinski is making a habit of saying "Away We Go" lately - this time to a new 2,640-square-foot, three-bedroom, four-bath gated mid-century home in LA. His $1.9 million purchase sits high above Hollywood's legendary Chateau Marmont hotel on what real estate agents deem a "celebrity cul-de-sac." So, Krasinski should feel right at home among his VIP cronies.
I dig the home's architecture from the outside, but I'm not too keen on the contemporary updates indoors, the kitchen and bathroom in particular. I'm also liking the lush tropical plants on the patio, but there doesn't seem to be much space to entertain around the pool - I guess that's what you get for only about a third of an acre of land. I'll give this crib three stars, and that's assuming he'll toss the bachelor pad furniture. What do you think? See photos when you read more.

Ask Savvy: My Boyfriend's Bad Money Habits Are Problematic

Dear Savvy,

I recently moved in with my boyfriend, and we have been discussing marriage and all that comes with it. In the next two years, we'd like to purchase a house. The problem is that I have excellent credit and his is in serious disrepair after his parents "forgot" to pay his student loans. The loans went into collection, but he is not making regular monthly payments as he should. He works two jobs and uses this as an excuse to justify "forgetting" to pay his electricity bill until the company calls to disconnect it. Yet he seems to have no problem remembering to have money for going out or attending bachelor parties.

I've tried to remain calm, but I'm afraid his finances will never shape up. He wants us to take a vacation to go snowboarding in December, which will cost upwards of $2,000 per person, but I think the money could be better spent on paying down his loans. He's told all his friends that we're going even though we have yet to purchase the tickets. I'm afraid he'll resent me if I suggest that we put off a vacation or the other things he wants, which I think are unnecessary like a new TV. How can I help him manage his finances better so that we can achieve our future goals while still having fun in the present?

Savvy says: While the two of you have agreed on a near-future goal of purchasing a home, you're obviously the only one taking it seriously. Your boyfriend isn't taking responsibility for his finances, so try not to feel like the bad guy for not going along with his impulses to do things he can't afford. Just because you're clashing right now doesn't mean your goals are doomed, but he needs to step up and stop ignoring his financial obligations.

Instead of suggesting that your boyfriend can't do certain things, volunteer to help him set up a plan that would allow him to pay his bills while saving up for fun trips. Explain that his debt will always be a problem if he doesn't start dealing with it now, and express how his financial decisions are stressing you out. You say you fear your boyfriend will resent you if you don't want a new TV, but you'll end up resenting each other if you don't start seeing eye to eye on money issues.

Sit down together and make a list of all of his fixed monthly expenses, including a set amount for debt repayment. Then, divide the remainder of his income between two other accounts: discretionary income to be used for things like eating out and going to the movies, and a savings account to start building an emergency fund. It might be a good idea for your boyfriend to set up another separate savings account for things like trips and big purchases - whatever money he doesn't use from the discretionary account could be moved into this special savings account at the end of each month or pay period.
