Singing and dancing on webcams that they then post on YouTube. Secretly auditioning for a role in the next Broadway musical or MTV video. The child on the left put it best when he captioned one of his many lipsyncing YouTube videos thusly: "The song that is starting my kerir." I don't doubt it kid. But I'd keep an eye on your sister. She's pretty awesome, too.

You know you've thought about it before. What's up, you wondered, with those permanent bachelors Bert and Ernie? The Broadway musical Avenue Q, inspired by Sesame Street characters all grown up with adult troubles, has an awesome song Nicky (the Ernie-ish character) sings to Rod (the Burt character). And someone added it to original Sesame Street clips. I'll have this song in my head all day!

James Van Der Beek Has Musical Appreciation

James Van Der Beek posed with a puppet last night after catching a performance of the musical Avenue Q in NYC. We loved seeing James's passionate anniversary celebration with his wife Heather McComb a couple weeks ago, but she didn't make it out for last night's trip to the theater. Instead, James had his mother as an extra special date understudy. With his old Dawson's Creek co-star Joshua Jackson's TV comeback Fringe getting lots of hype, not to mention Katie Holmes's guest starring gig, hopefully Dawson can line up yet another return to TV this season too.

Muppets + Senator Craig = Awesome

For those of you who don't follow the news, Idaho Senator Larry Craig was busted for making hand signals in a men's bathroom. To the person who nabbed him (what a weird job he has!), this meant he was soliciting sex from other men. Just kinda funny, right? Add the muppets from the musical Avenue Q to puncuate Craig's subsequent "I'm not gay" speech? Very, very funny.

Desperate Housewives Rundown, "The Coffee Cup"

Some shows bring out big guest stars for November sweeps, but Desperate Housewives is getting back in touch with its sexy side instead. Susan tries to set a new record with Mike while Bree narrowly escapes an Orson interruption when she's with Karl. Meanwhile, Lynette's pregnancy secret is finally out and Nick Bolen continues to be creeptastic all over town.

Now that Mad Men's long gone, I'm hoping the housewives will kick things into higher gear for my Sunday nights. Ready to get into it? Just read more.

Susan: Susan manages to avoid jail time for shooting Katherine, but the cheeky judge sentences her to garbage pick up for all of her "trash talking" (get it?!). Katherine and Susan's little courtroom drama re-enactment is ridiculous (as is Susan's cleavage baring dress for the hearing) but unfortunately the catty antics don't stop there. Katherine taunts Susan and her orange jumpsuit, prompting Susan to turn the tables on her rival. Katherine has a hissy fit and reveals that she and Mike once had sex five times in one day, which of course gets Susan all worked up. When her endless array of lingerie and come-ons still can't land Mike in the sack more than three times in 24 hours, Susan has one of her typical annoying tantrums. Mike comforts her in what's meant to be an "aww" inducing moment, but I was too busy rolling my eyes. Usually Susan doesn't bug me this much, but I couldn't be more over the love triangle.

Angie and Bree: Gaby usually has the best lines of the show, but it looks like Angie is right on her tail - "Have you seen Avenue Q? With the puppets? Now that's theater." Anyway, Angie's now got herself a balancing act between giving Nick grief about his affair with Julie and being too involved with Bree's life. After Orson admits to Angie that he suspects Bree is having an affair, Angie immediately tells Bree. Though she refuses to spy on Bree, Angie still gets all tangled up in the web when she plays Rear Window - looking on as Orson enters the house while Bree and Karl are upstairs getting it on. Angie intervenes and saves the day, but how long before she asks Bree to return the favor. Also, when Orson is discussing the plot of Madame Butterfly, is he insinuating that he might kill himself when he inevitably finds out about Bree's affair? Personally, both Karl and Orson kind of bug me so I'm just as torn as Bree is about which man to choose.

Lynette and Gaby: The latest update in Lynette's secret pregnancy? Menswear. But that's just the tip of the iceberg, when she and Gaby start squaring off over one of Lynette's colleagues. Gaby convinces Carlos to transfer Terrence, the colleague in question, to Florida so that Juanita can take Terrence's daughter's spot at a Catholic school. Realizing that she won't be able to take maternity leave without Terrence, Lynette turns the tables and convinces Terrence to reject the transfer. The tables turn on Lynette when Gaby discovers that she's pregnant - and Carlos is pissed. He gives Lynette an ultimatum - take the spot in Florida, or quit. Though Carlos's anger is understandable, I think I'm on Lynette's side here. Carlos had been complaining about another co-worker's pregnancy, so Lynette had every right to be scared to tell him. I also think it's a bit rich for Gaby to admit how selfish she is but then point fingers at Lynette for keeping her secret.

James McArthur, the Harrods chief executive told The Times, "It’s all doom and gloom out there. They say retail is theatre: this will be about being fun and entertaining." Despite these measures both Grazia and The Times have reported good recent sales for the store.

I think it's safe to say that Phil is a great commenter across the Sugar network--not just on GiggleSugar. Because of his cute, well-thought out, and often funny comments, we thought we'd be remiss not to give him a shout-out! We love ya, Phil. Keep on truckin'!

GS: What’s your motto?
Phil: Lately it's been "Google it!" It's become an acceptable answer for so many questions that would otherwise go unanswered. What year was The Yellow Wallpaper published? Google it! Who is the Greatest Living American? Google it!

GS: Where are you from?
Phil: Phil: Sacramende, California and I love it! It's pretty heavily polluted. Without that pollution, however, we wouldn't be able to see such a beautiful cityscape sunset when driving from Vallejo on I80.

GS: What do you do?
Phil: I work at a Northern California based staffing firm. I'm also working to get a BA in some major that hopefully won't leave me woefully relating to a musical number from Avenue Q.

GS: How would you describe your sense of humor?
Phil: I love the self deprecating humor. The kind of humor that is a staple of any good Woody Allen comedy. The visual humor of Peter Sellars is also an act that's never failed to make me laugh. The awkwardness that Lionel Mandrake in Dr. Strangelove exuded as he was locked in the room with the batty General Ripper can never be topped!

GS: What’s your favorite GiggleSugar post?
Phil: Mocha the broccoli eating hamster! Of course! Whenever I need a good pick-me-up or just want to smile, I always look for Mocha. A close second would be the article on the Peacock family's unfortunate decision in naming their child. I read the name a few times at first, not understanding why that was funny. Then it finally clicked and at that moment, my laughter would be unsuppressable.

GS: Who’s the cutest funny man and funny woman?
Phil: Cutest funny man: Jim Carrey (right around the time he did The Truman Show).
Cutest funny woman: Wendy Liebman (especially when she was on "Dr. Katz." Squiggly vision = hot!)

GS: Who are your favorite male and female comedians?
Phil: Jim Gaffigan and Ellen DeGeneres. "Beyond the Pale"? Best stand up DVD ever!

GS: What’s your favorite comedy of all time?
Phil: Annie Hall. Alvy Singer could very well be my father, if Alvy Singer were Filipino. Then again, I doubt Alvy Singer would actually make it the distance of child bearing.

GS: If your life were a comedy, what would it be?
Phil: It would probably be like a quick segment in Coffee & Cigarettes. I'll be sitting in the patio area at Naked Lounge in downtown, making dry, slightly disdainful observations about the bums at the park across the street. Or, possibly something exactly like Splick Featherstone in My Life's in Turnaround.

GS: Do you look like someone famous?
Phil: I've been told I look like Sean Lennon when I wear my hair down and the photogrey is kicked in on my glasses. Eh.

Phil Free for all: I've recently found that it can be pretty demoralizing when you egosurf and come up with absolutely nothing! Come on! It's ironic that my favorite saying, "Google it," doesn't work on me. I hope I used the word "ironic" correctly. I think I obliterated my understanding of the word in the 90's when "Jagged Little Pill" came out. *sigh*
